Doesn't change the way the umpire will call it every single time. It's entirely predictable.

As Megabattimus rightly points out though, hopefully a few extra kegs will give him the strength to do it.

The umps generally give a little leeway if you get your butt to the side, which he did, only leaning over him from the stomach up. Promising signs like you’ve said none the less.

Looked a fraction off the pace today. Also need to work on turning blokes in the tackle rather than flopping onto them. Leaves him open to free kicks against even if they are marginal. Have liked his work but today was only average.

I think overall there were a bunch of players who were off a fraction today. Feels very much like the approaching of the middle of the year mark and fitness/overall intensity of backing up games is just catching up with everyone due to the shorter preaseson. Just a little hurdle to get over. Feel like he is building for at least one big one before the end of the year though. Might not need a rest with the bye round coming up soon.

Would certainly be keeping him in next week.

Keep playing Archie and the kids!

They need games. They’ll add size/tank in the off season.
Except if they're fatigued they're probably more likely to get injuries.

Better to give them one week off rather than have them out for 4 because we played them until their hamstrings gave way

No. It was the correct call.
He was all over his back, with Cerra on the ground, well before he rolled to the side. Umps will call that every single time.
He needs to practice his run down tackling.

Paying in the back for someone just lying there is the stupidest interpretation. It isn’t dangerous. The dangerous action is driving into the back which he didn’t do. Spirit of the rule and they don’t pay it 50 times a game in the midfield.

Probably due for a rent but with Smith going down should stay in. Breakout game can’t be far away.

Rest? He’s 19! They can run all day and recover quickly.

Tim Watson never had a rest round in his early days.

Archie is doing fine. Second and third efforts are common and likes getting in close to the action in packs. Will tackle anyone no matter what size they are.

Will get better every game and learn.

I reckon he’s going very nicely

The pace of the game was slightly different in Tim Watson's time
