Smillie has had multiple hammies
Clarke re did a knee
Of course Lefaus calf injury was related to his knee reco
Lalor multiple hammies
Gray was a week off coming back, then had a 4-6 week setback
Ralphsmith multiple hammies this year (missed the start of the season).

As I said....
Smilie, was actually battling a hip complaint as well fyi
Clarke - 3rd ACL. Had nothing to do with conditioning. Was just unlucky.
Lefaus injury had nothing to do with the ACL. Normally if anything, ironically, it's a hammy which can happen due to the graft etc.
Lalor - like I said, it wasn't a reoccurrence of the same issue, a different part of the hammy went. So that's a concern in itself.
Gray hurt his knee during the game during physical contact. Had nothing to do with conditioning
Ralphsmith had played how many games before the string? close to what, 10? So dunno that you can say it was an issue due to the body of work put in.

Flipside -

Prestia
Hotton
Armstrong
Lynch
Hopper
Short
Young
Ross
Gibcus
Faull

Any thoughts there? All did the same pre season.

FMD talk about impatient supporter base

Rest him until next season
dying to just see the kid back out on the field.
But this probably is the most sensible out come for the year.
We would need a group therapist if another set back occurred.

I love how you've named a few blokes that have actually had soft tissue injuries THIs SEASON as a reason as to why he's doing a good job, just because they haven't been repeat injuries :drunk: Short - calf, Armstrong - hammy off the bone, Prestia - Hammy. Faull? Now you're saying he's done a good job because a kid has managed to return from injury (that wasn't soft tissue)? Geez low bar. Gibcus is 3 games back after the worlds longest recovery from an ACL. I wouldn't be counting our chickens on that one just yet. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) Lynch got himself a little months rest before his body had the chance to give out this time. Jack Ross? What about him? He's had one injury interrupted season in his career.

Yeah he's doing so good that he's managed to keep our injury list down to what 17 unavailable last week? Stellar job 👏

Also, stop FYIing me ya smug campaigner ;)

:p  FYI......I listed a heap of blokes who have had histories of long term soft tissue injuries and they are holding up. You can't tell me Prestia, Hopper, Lynch haven't had long term issues but have been on the park for a very good chance of the season. So it goes both ways. So no, I haven't just names blokes from this season. Faull didn't have a pre season due stress related back injuries. My oldest son had to have a full year off cricket due to the same issue, so I got a reasonable idea on that one as well. No club gets through a season unscathed. And we have been ultra conservative on what we view as long term players for the club. And you have bee na little blaise on a few others. We can agree to disagree, that's ok, but, look at it wholistically, not selectively. (and yes, my spelling has been a little shit on a couple of words...)

Ralphsmith also never done a hammy prior to this year. Now done multiple once the rugby bloke came in and changed all our players running styles
He spent the 3 years prior to coming over to us at Geelong and a stint at Port Adelaide a few years before that, so bit of an all rounder.

Yeah....Prestia only missed the first half of the season so that's a win I guess. I'll give you Hopper out of that entire list. How blessed we are. FYI, I did say I'd give the serpent a mulligan for this year. He's learning (I hope)

Smilie - had some off field issues (not doing what is best for himself shall we say). Returning this week.
Clarke - did an ACL. Was 4 weeks back into his career. His 3rd ACL fyi
Lefau - was into week 5. So was playing a decent block .Did a calf. Previous injury was a knee. So unrelated.
Lalor - actually injured a different part of the hamstring. Wasn't the same area.
Gray - Knee injury during a game. Wasn't injured before hand.
Ralphsmith - wasn't injured beforehand.
McAuliffe - yep - pay this. Quad has gone a third time.
Go On GIF

Nah, there will be others here who i’m sure can expand if they choose to. But, young blokes will sometimes do young bloke things.

And essington think they've got injuries

Been told his hammy hip injuries are a result of his awkward locomotion. They've had to reprogram his running style and movement to ensure there's no undue pressure on his tendons et al.
need some kylie

He may not have been focused 100% on his rehab and made a small mistake. I’m sure he’s now refocused
