Really glad for the kid he kicked 2 goals. At the end of the day he had 6 touches (I think). Would rather see him play 2 or 3 games in the 2s and come into the midfield ready to go. He was nowhere near match fit.

7 touches actually

People aren't mentioning he had a couple of assists and score involvements as well as the 2 goals.
True, he had a very good gather in the pocket and lace out kick to Crippa who then goaled from the set shot.

Why are people wanting to send him back to the vfl? He kicked 2 and had involvement in others. Puts forward pressure on, and is just what we need. Why put a ceiling on how many games he can handle thats. Just bs. Keep him in the side for the rest if the year- unless he shows signs of burn out. Same with curnow. , these kids are our future. We should be developing them asap. Look how well the young saints are going.

Sumner won't be heading off to the VFL this week.
Hard to imagine a situation he's given such a vote of faith, given his non-existent pre-season and then ousted for.....???
That would very much be a 'We've made a mistake' moment.

Liam has some tricks and needs to use them at the premium level......even if we aren't quite premium ourselves.

Back in November he was reportedly fat and no good. One game in, looking really good. Just needs to play some football keep him in, even if he has a couple of stinkers he will adjust and find himself.

He will be a good get for Carlton.

GWS had too many talent on their list (look at their demolition job on Port right now) and they had to trim their list. Was a top ten draft pick from memory.

SOS got us an absolute bargain. He won't be dropped this week. His scoreboard impact last night ensures he stays in (and I tend to think we overrate possession numbers anyway)

Knew bugger all about Liam (other than injured quite a lot of the time), and really liked his nous, spark and creativity against the doggies. Keep him in the team for sure, and leave him forward for most of the time while he builds match conditioning and fitness. He added heaps to our forward line.

No.10 Draft pick wasn't he?
He's just a quality player.
He and Plowman look like being really good gets and Lamb is doing reasonably well too, and Phillips could yet deliver as rucks take time. It's looking like a ripping deal for us.

And Menzel can't even crack a game. :D

Keep in mind Bontempelli got 3 goals from 13 possessions?

If he can be a player who be damaging no matter how many times he gets it in the forward that is invaluable to us.

Surprised he was brought into the seniors so quickly but but it was a good first showing for Liam.

Didn't find much of the ball but used it well when he had it and kept himself busy. Two goals was nice reward for effort.

Keen to see him once he's built his fitness up - could be a damaging footballer for us down the track.
