This is how it's done.:thumbsu:

1964 Premiership
This was the last, and undoubtedly the most memorable, of all the Grand Final encounters between Melbourne and Collingwood

shit they have good memories

1954

bit before anybodys time really imagine having to hang your hat of any of the above dates no wonder they are so MAD

This bit ( rejected by the VFL at least twice.)

But that's common knowledge for most Aussie Rules fans. Every good Norf fan knows it.

You were rejected by the VFL at least twice and finally we let you in. After years of begging, bowing and scraping. We allowed you to join us. In fact the wiki quote you posted validated it.

Kitty Allen has the number one hit of the year with "Little things mean a lot"

Ironic or what?

You are dumber then I thought, below is your comment

By 1954 Norf had already shown their penchant for the merger having merged 3 times with other teams. Their club had also been bankrupt twice, thrown out of the VFA once and rejected by the VFL at least twice.

Below=correct

After 3 attempts, 29 years of waiting and numerous other applications to enter the VFL, finally North was rewarded for its relentless persistence with admittance to the League in 1925,

Which ever footy fans you are referring to tell them you were wrong

Are you a block of wood painted blue and white?

WTF are you talking about?

They certainly knew how to party when the Dogs won the flag.

Old Skool, we must be a little gentle with those Footscray supporters.

I found this poster:

how-not-to-greet-a-dog-right-way.jpg

It explains a little about the lack of success since 1954.

My goodness you are dim. I know all that and more. In fact I know it off the top of my head and I don't even support your shambles of a club. That you went running to wikipaedia (a terrible source for this info) shows you know very little about your own club. How awful.

Now, which part of my post do you dispute?

If we're such a "shambles", why are you so seemingly learned when it comes to our history?

The sum total of my knowledge of Melbourne:

Pre 1964

- won a few flags (don't know/care how many);
- had a coach with the extremely cool name of "Checker" at some stage.

Post 1964

- knived Norm Smith;
- knived Barassi;
- failed to realise that the game was becoming more professional and adapt accordingly (see Barassi kniving above);
- voted to merge with Hawthorn;
- tanked for draft picks;
- lost a couple of Grand Finals by an aggregate of over 25 goals, one by a (then) record margin;
- 186;
- won SFA.

What do......Condoleezza Rice, Jackie Chan, James Cameron, John Travolta, Oprah Winfrey, all have in common?

None of them have ever witnessed a bulldogs premiership.

The Oscar for best movie of 1954 goes to................

Is life weird or what?

1954, great year

February 3 – Elizabeth II becomes the first reigning monarch to visit Australia.

June 16 – July 4 – the 1954 FIFA World Cup is held in Switzerland

December 24 – Laos gains full independence from France.

Yeah, massive year:rolleyes:
