We were from 1994-1996. Would have been longer if Northey stayed
I agree about Northey.....worst decision in the club's history next to the 80's recruiting war with Collingwood....however I hardly count one finals appearance in those three years as being reflective of being a powerhouse.

I wouldn't worry too much about Freezer.

Does anyone honestly think this boardroom newbie has any clout at the club whatsoever? He'll have his two cents worth, that'll be about it. March and Wright are running the show.

Side note: He wasn't elected. How does that all work? Will he have to be at some point?

Tony Free played a total of 6 games in 95/96. Interesting.

Tony Free was a smart footballer cut down in his prime, he is a clever man and a great bloke. I'm happy he's come on board.

Explain to me the culture of winning that Paul Roos came from at his Fitzroy days.

and dont even try comparing the aforementioned to Roos, he had class act written all over him from back at his Fitzroy days, and apart from right near the end they has us covered in overall performances sonny Jim :o much more talented side

Same too with Tommy Hafey, who came from a very underwhelming Richmond of the 50's.

Having said that, I think Freezer did not make a good coach, both of Prahran and the Tigers Ressies when Geischen got promoted.

I'm not sure what his background is since then. I always liked the bloke, but there are certain people who do not rate him at all...

Roos good footballer, crap copier salesman, poor comunicator, great coach....how does that work?

In 1995 we were a powerhouse team...it just happened that geelong and carlton had 2 of the best teams i've ever seen that year (carlton due to salary cap dodgyness). Then over the next few years we lost sooo many best 22 players maxfield, naish, bond, torney, prescott, jamie tape (RIP), murphy, bourke, daffy, merenda to other clubs, justin charles a couple of years later to a doping ban, duncan kellaway to knee injuries...theres more i'm sure i'm forgetting.

Wayne campbell can stay where he is. could not wait to see the back of him and dont want to for a long long time. Do we forget that he wanted to leave the club, then for some strange reason was appointed captain when Knights got the sack. I wonder with intelligent decisions like this why Frawaley wasnt a success.

Sometimes one post just sums up the thread. Thanks Scroda, now can someone close this thread down?

It doesn't need anymore puerile comments.

In 1995, his debut season, Bourke played 15 games averaging about 10 possessions per game, got 3 brownlow votes...was handy. Thereafter he was destroyed by injuries.

Whoever said naish wasnt good, all i have to say is 1994-1996, naish scored 109 goals in 70 odd games, averaged 15 possies, and 2 tackles...what more could you ask for from a midget forward pocket (172cm!).
