Like this a lot.

Larkey, unlike the midfielders can see pretty much the whole ground. If structure is breaking down he can identify it before it becomes a problem and scream to get players in position.

Same thing if Comben was captain on the other side. If you can see the play unfolding, bark to get everyone setup properly before it hurts us.

Oh Captain my Captain

or just leading at the ball carrier instead of getting out the back

or hold his space in a contest instead of flopping over meekly looking for frees.

But it's an excellent choice. It's been a while since we've had strong on field leadership. I hope Sov can provide it.

Well last time I listen to kickitallovertheshop34:p

Harry has been awesome in leading the way this preseason. I've never had a bad word to say about Larkey, but yeah not overly impressed with this call. Not even sure why I'm not. lol

Wish him luck and a big fat serving of success. Oh the coaches want big Charlie in the leadership group, apparently he's maturing and going from strength to strength. Good, as I didn't rate his 2025 highly

Think it's a little early for Harry. Whilst he'd do a good job and is a future captain in waiting, I just want him to focus on playing good footy and learning to cope with any criticism as he finds his way with his footy career.
I thought it was down to Larks or Big X.
Tristan leads by example on the field, obviously not as polished in dealing the media like the captain has to deal with, but he's not as bad as people make out. Larkey is obviously the more accomplished media performer.
I would've been okay with either of them as captain and Sheez takes over in a few years.

Yeah I get that Harry is young, but he's a born leader, Larks as Cpt just doesn't inspire me is all.
I never had big X as someone who would be Cpt, but I think he would be a fantastic addition to our leadership group. He's an uncouth footballer, and I love it.

Anyone it would now seem is an improvement on Jy Simplekin.

Yep. I’m not impressed with him either. He has had one good year and that’s it. He has only had one top 3 in the B&F in 8 years and kicked over 50 goals in a season once in his career. However, he is loyal, bleeds blue & white and is an all round good guy and hope he can lead us up the ladder.

Don't get me wrong I really rate him as a footballer, I think he's judged harshly around these parts, but I just don't think he's a leader.

Happy to be proven wrong.
