...the Mothers Day Massacre

http://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/6301/newsid/113110/default.aspx

I was there, wasn't expecting much, but quietly optimistic following a good showing against the Dogs at the Western Oval the week before (Terry Keays booted 7 or 8 against the Dogs).

Was supposed to rain all day, but the sun came out after lunch and stayed that way. First quarter was a bit of an arm wrestle, but after that it was all Tiges.

A good Collingwood friend of mine was being cheeky in the week leading in to the game offering me a bet giving me 10 goals in... given that we ended up beating them by 10 goals he's been known as '10-goal Bob' ever since! :D

I was at one of my best mate's 21st. Sunday arvo pissup. Spend the whole arvo in the car with the radio on listening, only to pause to grab a MB longneck from the bathtub full of ice. Great day.

Remember being as hungover as f..k ... numerous Chris Mews between mothers day lunch courses ..

... "Shit mum , must have been something i ate"

That was certainly the tonic though as i retired to my bedroom and listened to it on the wireless

Cant wait till we can get into the finals and get rid of the need to remember games that are elevated because the other team had tasted success.

Remember the game well Pete but want to get away from holding on to our wins that successful teams dismiss.

We remember 1995 with more passion than Geelong supporters because they were blown out of the water in thier last game. Glad that didnt happen to us.

Whoops feel like a wet blanket. Maybe you reminded me I have to get in touch with my family this weekend.

It was the lowest crowd since 1950 at Punt road - a game i was not at !

Had to work that day hey Peej? ;)

I wanted to go but my Mum said I couldn't because it was Mother's Day.

I was really really dark with her afterwards.
