A few punters saying this is the worst year we've had, might be time for a reminder.

Rd 1 - lost to Carlton by under a kick, Glenn Manton tried to be an octopus on Tony Modra and it worked a treat.

Rd 2-4 lose to Collingwood, Hawthorn, WCE.

Rd 5 vs BL @ Gabba, up by 9pts at 3/4 time only to lose by 49 with BL kicking 13.6 in the last qtr.

Rd 6 lose to Melbourne at home with the last qtr having Melbourne kick 8.4 to 0.3.

Rd 7-9 lose to Adelaide, Geelong, Sydney before Drum is sacked.

Rd 10-14 lose to richmond, North, Stk, Ess,Port by 38, 86, 10, 48& 92 pts. Port kicking 25.13 & North 23.16

Rd 15-17 Bulldogs, Carlton & Collingwood beat us by an avg of

Rd 18 beat the Hawks in a massive comeback.

Rd 19-21 lose to WCE,BL & Melb.

Rd 22 beat Adel.

Obtain #1&4 draft picks but trade #1 in the super draft for Croad. Hawks grab Hodge & Mitchell, we grab Polak.

Pre season draft we promise Fabian Francis to draft him after he is delisted from Port, we are found to be over the salary cap and banned from the draft and then sued be Francis.

Shit is bad but it ain't over the salary cap 2 win, trade pick #1 sack your coach bad!
 
This is probably the season I actually remember best, beyond the last couple of years. Just the sheer unfolding horror of it.

That Lions game especially. From memory Akermanis scored about 3 goals in the last straight from a tap out of the square and burning everyone to kick it from the 50.
 
The year I joined as a Freo member. This stands out as the worst year ever, and never thought would go back to those dark days. It's different this year in that we have had the best player in the league injured plus others. We definitely have learnt from 01 and Fremantle are now a professional resourceful club. I'd view 2007/08 as just as bad, but we blooded so many youngsters then that got us into the 2010-2015 finals.
I'm just glad Ross is signed for 5 years and get to properly rebuild. We were such a shambles and badly in debt back then. Can't imagine what Pav is feeling right now. Definitely been through it just like us fans, and could've easily jumped ship, just like so many of us could have

Yeah it started with a run of games where we lost after being in comfrotable winning positions. We had a 32 point lead at half time in Round 1. We were level at three quarter time in the first derby. We led Melbourne at three quarter time in round 6. We led Collingwood at three quarter time in round 17 and lost by just under five goals.

The sacking of Drum was very poorly handled. The club was in debt by the millions.

The five years shows we don't expect a five minute fix, which I support fully. I can't imagine a better coach than RTB. Any better option out there?
 
I moved to Melbourne in the late 90s. I only ever expected to see a merciless flogging or at best, defeat snatched from the jaws of victory over here, the Lyon years have been refreshing.

Had to put up with plenty of resting of the team, sooooo infuriating when it's one of four to six matches that you will see.

I obviously prefer the winning feeling, but am reasonably innured to losses.

The wheel will turn and we will be contenders, followed by times of uncompetitiveness. Rinse/repeat...
 
Yeh but in 2001 I was backpacking through Europe getting up to all sorts of high jinx.

This year blows.

It was my final year of high school so at least I spent most of it drunk

We could lose every game this season and it still wouldn't be as bad as 2001, we were such a rabble on the field and far worse off it.

Was Bigfooty even around in 2001? It probably wasn't very pleasant, so much ammunition.

Let's face it, 2001 still haunts us.

I went to every game but couldn't make the last one of the season against Adelaide. Yay for me.

And I was playing footy during the away game against Hawthorn too, so I missed both our wins. I remember being out on the field and hearing the cheering from all the people who'd gone into the clubrooms to watch the last qtr, before the word went around the field that we'd won.

At least we had Pavlich and Hasleby as young players. We dont have anyone like that at the moment.
