Delisted / Retired: Liberatore James :( Bartlett :( Rusca Picken Saunders

Traded: Eagleton, will accept David Bourke

In: Notting or Bradshaw :)

B: Hargrave, Penny, Smith
HB: Power, Grant, Mc Guinness
C: Johnson, West, Murphy
HF: Robbins, Bandy, Giansiracusa
F: Brown, Croft, McMahon
R: Darcy, Hahn, Alvey
I: Garlick, Kretiuk, Gilbee, Birss

E: Harrison, Cross, Harris

Delist: James, Bartlett, Picken, Rusca, Saunders
Trade: Dimattina

B: Kretiuk, Penny, Croft
HB: Smith, Grant, Hargrave

HF: Johnson, Bandy, Giansiracusa
F: Brown, McGuinness, Robbins
R: Darcy, Hahn, West

Int: Gilbee, Alvey, Harrison, Birss

EMG: Dimma, Bowden, Harris

Comments: This side could use another experienced tall forward, a back up ruckman and another 185-188 cm half back who could go into midfield. These should be targetted in the trade/draft period. 19/22 of the players are homegrown.

Development: Colbert, Bruton, Skipper, Cross

Delist/trade Options - Hunter, Eagle, Garlick, Picken, Rusca, Bartlett, Wiggins, Saunders. Some players on my Int and Emg list would also be trade options at the right price.

Most team selections look the same as this year.
Is anyone going to throw in a curly one.
Eg. Murph in middle if he gets more solid, Grant ruck rover, Birss or West forward pocket, Bandy CHB, Croft FF, Penny CHF.

The thing is though that most line ups are subject to who we are playing and the match ups required. We also cant do an accurate team without seeing who we trade and who we pick up.

Golly, keep your shirt on. Knowing the Dogs we will do one or two ****y trades and hopefully get another Bandy.

2003 will be the year we start to see more of McGuiness, Bowden and Harris. Expect to see Grant at CHB more regularly, Hahn to step up and be our best power midfielder (he is really our only one but doesnt matter) And Browny to kick another bag for the year..........

Will be interesting to see whether 03 is the year the downward spiral comes to a halt, continues or is well and truly reversed. The winds of change have blown through the WO, and I know everyone scoffs at the "there's always next year" cliche, but I think it would be fair to expect great things to happen with this list (might take another season to settle with the new coach however)

Roll On 03

Our backline next year will consist of

Smalls - Smith, Power, Birss
Mediums - Hargrave, Mc Guinness, Kretiuk
Talls - Grant, Croft, Penny

We can't play all nine of them so I think Kritter may be in trouble.

Is McGuiness really only 188cm?

Kritter may be our bes negating defender, but I reckon we need to bring other guys on. Harris as a direct replacement?

Woulda thought McGuinness would be better as a forward [maybe FF], Power midfield or forward, Kritter still good value as defender.

Our most pressing needs for next season are:

A tall forward/ruck combo
A class in and under midfielder/forward
A tall defender.

When you look at the team in general there is really only two positions that we are deficient in.
I have not counted on Kretiuk with the following team as he is yet to commit but he would be a bonus.
The top line would be my projected starters with the back-up listed underneath

B Robbins Croft Harrison
Birss Penny Hargrave

HB Smith Grant Murphy
Hahn Penny McGuiness

C McMahon West Giansiracusa
Alvey ????? Dimattina

HF Power Bandy Johnson
McGuiness Grant Robbins

F Bowden Hunter Brown
Hargrave ?????? Garlick

R Darcy Eagleton Garlick
Bandy Brown Dimattina

We look to be well covered in most positions and whilst we should always look at class players as trade options our most pressing needs are really obvious

as an understudy for West I'd be looking at Birss for that role.

and Harris would seem the logical understudy for a key defensive role.
