Byrnsey for sure. If Allan has an outstanding season in the VFL, which he should, he should be very close to being elevated at either this seasons end or at the end of 2005.

An honest question:

What chance does Jeff Smith have of making it in the big time? Will he be delisted from our rookie list at season's end?

Haven't seen him play so can't his form, but I would have thought if the club didn't consider him a prospect, then they would have got rid of him already. While I'm not certain, I would have thouhgt rookies are only given one year contracts.

If you ask Bobcat, he's the next Carey/Farmer rolled into one.

The Smith i saw is amazingly talented, almost freakish. However, he is incredibly soft, has shocking decision making, and goes missing.

If he stopped thinking he was a rover, and started to think about his game, he'd be a 100 game player.

I'd say he'll get delisted at seasons end, just too many rough edges.

I think interstate rookies get two, like their main list colleagues.

Stand to be corrected though.

Just a couple of quick points

1. Jeff Smith is a super athlete and has the ideal build for footy. However he two grabs too many marks unlike say McCarthy, his kicking is very shabby but most damaging is that he doesn't read the games well enough to be an AFL forward.

2. Seb I'm with you if the magoo's don't finish top 4 then we have problems.

3. I prey Allan hasn't lost it. Fair dinkem he was three times the player Byrnes was. That might sound stupid but he really was. Both similar builds and I reckon one won't be here next year. I should note I love Byrnesy but I have reservations on him at an AFL level.

4. Can't wait to see Spencer play. Big bodied young tall. Hope that Charlie G and Mackie improve enough to play regular one's games this year.

Ditto to the extreme ;)

Only, I'm prepared to cut Mackie a little slack. Charlie G however, it's this year or he's out.

does anyone no anything about Buckland? what chance does he ever have of playing AFL? He was even on the falcons list in 02! hopefully one of the locals will have somthing on him.

Not a lot. Heard a bit about him being pretty light and that he needs to improve his skills but that's what the rookie list is for I suppose. Very very slim chance of him playing this year given our list make up. He'd have to jump past 22 blokes which ain't going to happen.
