Yeah, it was toss up between Teague and Hartlett, i am hoping Hartlett will be a regular in the side next year.

Teague just got exposed too much last season, love the way he plays, but the only position i see him playing is spare man in defence, which i hate when we do that, because the opposing spare man in our foward line always kills us.

At the moment I rate carrazzo higher than Bentick just because he was consistant throughout the whole year and Bentick only came into calculations at the end. That could very well change by the end of next year but Bentick really needs to stamp himself on the game.

I see Carrazzo running out of defence next year with stints in the midfield but I do expect him to play quite a bit in defence just due to the lack of defenders we really have.

More than half of those players mentioned couldn't get a game at any other club, and that list is headed by Heath Scotland, Jason Saddington, Simon Wiggins and others. It's going to be another long season for the Blues, and undoubtedly will end with a third wooden spoon, but without the benefit of a priority draft pick at the end either!

Notes... Saddington needs to re-prove himself as a third tall before we think about FB or CHB. Livingston will be on his last chance on a one year contract with Bower waiting in the wings next year. Carrazzo's kicking is a problem and I'd rather he only had the occassional stint on the ball (one of my favourite players though.)

Half Backs: Matthew Lappin, Bret Thornton, David Teague

Notes... Lappin did his best work rebounding out of defence and at the age of 29 it's stupid to be experimenting with him all over the place. Thornton is a gun and will switch between CHB and FB depending on where Lance is, possible AA in the near future. Teague doesn't have pace but he's a supreme reader of the play and accountable to the end.

Centre: Kade Simpson, Adam Bentick, Heath Scotland

Notes... Simpson has really come on, and balances out all of Carlton's inside midfielders. Bentick had some good performances last year but he will have to do that 20 weeks out of 22 in order to battle off the challenges of Murphy and Blackwell to the centre spot. Scotland is a proven quantity and one of the players who can hit Fevola with consistency.

Half Forward: Jarrad Waite, Lance Whitnall, Brad Fisher

Notes... Waite is still a little way off being ready for CHF but will likely be playing there full-time by the end of the year. Whitnall had the disadvantage of being in an overexposed combination with Fevola that lacked depth earlier last season. The increase in options will help him significantly. Fisher is a questionable shot at goal at the moment, rather him as a setting up flanker than a full time forward pocket. Would be an impact option closer to goal.

Forward: Eddie Betts, Brendan Fevole, Setanta O'hAilpin

Notes... Eddie has to become more consistent. If he doesn't, he'll still turn games. Fevola, where the hell else are you going to put him? Setanta O'hAilpin will be a superstar and doing an apprenticeship in a forward pocket is a good start.

Followers: Barnaby French, Nick Stevens, Anthony Koutoufides

Notes... French is in the prime of his career and may only have two years left with his body. Stevens will be glad of the help he'll get in the mid-field this year. Kouta will likely play more off the bench this year unless Bentick falls back dramatically and Scotland loses form again.

Interchange: Dylan McLaren, Andrew Walker, Marc Murphy, Ryan Houlihan

Notes... McLaren is the clear choice as second ruckman. Walker needs to be given his head this year and show more progress particularly with his disposal. Marc Murphy will play most games this year barring injury. Ryan Houlihan is so frustrating because he plays like a girl but as a forward flank/wing he provides Fevola with premium quality ball and a constant threat at goal himself.

I wasn't sledging either by the way, and I was only being honest about my feelings on the look of the Carlton side for 2006, so I apologise for upsetting anybody. As for my team, I feel that a repeat of 2002-03 is possible, as is a repeat of the last two seasons as the best Collingwood team does include many players with Grand Final experience as well as the down turn that has occurred since, so anywhere from a Grand Final to 15th is possible in that case with Collingwood, and injuries will play a part. The reasons to be optimistic though are reasonable because in 2002-03, Collingwood had the youngest playing list and played the most footy of all teams, and that included two premiership season Grand Finals, one pre-season Grand Final, and an exhibition match in London.

That amount of footy definitely effected the preparation of the last two seasons because a full pre-season was not possible, and this was shown last season with a terrible amount of injuries. The Collingwood backline is very good, and the potential of the forward line is even better. Last season, Chris Tarrant missed a lot, and was on one leg when he played. Rocca played two full matches before his injury. Buckley missed more than the first half of last season. Didak missed plenty and was unfit when he played, and Josh Fraser played 5 matches. This led to Blake Caracella and Travis Cloke receiving the best defenders of the opposition, and they both played well considering. Next season though with a fit Rocca, Tarrant, Fraser, and Didak in the forward line along with Buckley, T.Cloke, Caracella, Rusling and others leads to much optimism. The midfield needs improving, but it is good, and sometimes it's okay to lose in the middle and then launch an attack from the backline, because that is what Sydney did in every match last season, and they won the premiership.

Talented list that had Carlton finish last, and also favourites to do it again in 2006? Earlier this evening on the radio, Gerard Healy said that with some luck with injuries, there is no reason that Collingwood can't be a part of the action in the last couple of weeks next season. For that to be said, he must feel that our list is quite good, and certainly a lot better than Carlton's. I think I'll accept his opinion on that ahead of yours.
