First interstate Grand Final ever.

Will the Herald Sun/Age be running Storm articles all week with the Daily Telegraph/SMH running Swans article all week?

Tips

Storm by 4, I hope Broncos win though but Storm have been way too good throughout the season.

Crowd: 80,000 (a few more empty seats than usual... how genius was it by the NRL to sign that Telstra Stadium deal on the same year as the first interstate final?)

Betting - TAB Sportsbet

10:20pm 23/10/06 - Storm $1.85 / Broncos $1.95
1:20pm 24/10/06 - Storm $1.75 / Broncos $2.00

Great win by the storm. We should win next week, although the broncos have never lost a grand final (until next week ;)). It should also be the best grand final that brisbane have played in, as every single premiership they've won has been boring as bat ****.

Send off Scotty Hill as a premiership player.

yeah good wiin by the storm again who are actually getting there games live in melbourne

storm 22-14 for me

Congratulations Storm... certainly a very classy side, and will be all the better for that tough hit out....

I think they will do it pretty comfortably next week :thumbsu:

Amazing results given the way AFL has been this year.

All 'interstate' finalists. National sports alright.

It will sell-out.... don't you worry about that.

Demand for tickets ,even before the teams were named, was HUGE. I paid $140 for my ticket... yet with these prices the demand was massive..

i wonder how many people watched the game in melbourne tonight

wow, you must have the A+ seats. I got a family ticket of 4 for $117 bucks (inc booking fee) back in August.

Do you know how many tickets are still to go on sale?

From memory the Storm were a bit lucky to get up last time at Suncorp.

Let's hope "we" ;) crush them this time. Crokey voice guy must be stopped!

Go Brisbane, although with Inglis, Johnson, Smith and Slater in the Storm side, it has a distinctive Queensland flavour.

Must you put a dampener on everything?

I went to the match tonight and i'm just absolutely stoked that for the first time in my life in ANY code, MY team is in the GRAND FINAL! :D :D :D

Good luck to the Melbourne Storm. I went to a few matches back in 1998 and became a member in 1999. I was fortunate enough to have gone on a supporters bus up to Sydney for the 1999 Grand Final to watch the Storm win the Premiership. It was the most exciting sporting contest I have ever seen, because, of course, a team I supported actually won something! There must have only have been a few thousand of us Storm supporters in Stadium Australia(as it was called then) among the 100000+ crowd, though after the match I had supporters of many teams come up to me and congratulate me on the win. After the match we attended a function at the stadium which a few players attended. I will always remember that day in Sydney.

I was last able to see the Storm play in 2002 on a trip to Melbourne but, unfortunately, not on my visit in March of this year.

So, best of luck Storm and the team's supporters. Shove it up those Broncos!:p

im so pumped about next week, can't ****ing wait to see my team win the flag.
Does anybody know if the game will be screened on the big screen at Fed Square?

Well being a cowboy supporter, i find i impossible to want the broncos to win the game, and yet i don't want the storm to win either.

However storm will win.

Storm 24
Brisbane 22

I cannot wait to until next Sunday night. It is going to be a huge weekend. I booked the NRL grand final ticket back in August hoping the storm would be there and the dream is now reality. Bring on next Sunday night!!!!!!!!!

It will be a cracking game because both teams make very few errors. I think Melbourne will win because they have the best dummy half runners in the game, and Brisbane's marker defence is ordinary. Watch how many times they have only 1 marker while the other bloke is lying on his back in the ruck. If they get on this sort of roll, the big bronco forwards will tire quickly. Also, if the Melbourne halves continue to go to the air with their kicks they will put a lot of pressure on the back 3 of Hunt, Boyd and Hodges. Brisbane and Qld teams have a habit of not contesting the bomb which has contributed to a countless number of tries at club and state level.

In saying that though, i have seen many Brisbane matches in my lifetime and the bronco's outside backs are in some of the best form i have seen. Hunt is an absolute freak and it is amazing to think this is only his second year. I used to hate Hodges, but he is now one of the form players in the comp - deceptively strong and quick. Tate and Stagg are also playing well.

I'm looking forward to the game - 26 out of the 34 players are Queenslanders. :thumbsu: Fantastic effort. This is coming after 2 years ago Ricky Stuart said NSW would dominate state of origin for years. It now looks like we have plenty of depth in the Queensland team. If Lockyer plays as he has during the finals series, Brisbane will win no matter what. Expect him to win the Churchill if Brisbane wins, and likewise Cameron Smith to cap of a great year if Melbourne win.
