Hope you don't mind my starting this, but thought it was time for a little "banter". So who do you think will finish higher in 2006? Think we already know who will in 2005 ;)

Adelaide...easy... :o

p.s. don't care who finishes higher at the end of the minor round...who finishes higher after the end of the finals series should have been the question.

********...i replied to my own post...time to log off.....

I'll Go with Adealide

do real reason - i'm hoping that with Josh Carr gone and Schofield gone the power lose there supply to there forward line and by 06 the crows have developed to a top 8 side and the power are a falling star ?

7 Adelaide
8 Power ?

home final !!

Trouble maker with a capital T, you are
We will of course.

Me, trouble?? Have NFI what you're talking about..... :D

Now, seriously I voted Port (der!). My reasons (apart from the obvious Port bias) are that we have superior KPP. I think we'll struggle to make top 4 though with our recent departures and those likely to retire/be sacked at the end of 2005. We have the onballers to stay competitive despite recent losses, but you can't replace class like Carr. That's my "port view".

Why do those of you who voted "Adelaide" think that? I'm genuinely interested in your views. Where do you see your improvement coming from?

This isn't a "troll" thread but I guess it might end up that way.....

Says the lady with a POWER logo????

Ok the reasons I beleive Adelaide will finish higher in 2006?

As posted Ports era is about to drop due to retirement and delistings... and IMO Adelaide arent as far away as people think...I feel a lot of kids(players) werent given a good go under Ayres and hopefully they will blossom with NC.

I do believe NC can coach despite what others think and it wont be 2005 but I feel the AFC will make the 8 in 2006 and Port will as well...may well come down to showdowns/cubby house games( will AAMI now be called the cubby house????? :p ) Port have enough left to finish in the 8 its then up to them to see how high and also how much improvement other teams make.

Two players will keep Port in a stronger position than the Adelaide Crows in 2005 and 2006. W Tredray and C Cornes, portentous said it in the first post, KPP are the key to winning. If Tredray and Cornes go down, Port will come back to the pack very quickly, just like Brisbane will with out Lynch and Brown (for 6 weeks)

Give the Adelaide crows 3 years and our KPP will develop and allow us to become a force in the AFL again.

Port will finish higher for the next 2 or 3 years barring injuries but after that your window of premiership opportunities will be closing very quickly and ours (hopefully) will be starting re open

Some people on this board either know nothing about football or are too biased. Adelaide wont come close to Port for at least 3 years. Seriously Adelaide finishing above the mighty Port Adelaide Football Club, reigning champions and undisputed world champions, u've got to be joking. Really Adelaide would be better off finishing where they deserve and getting some decent draft picks.

For me personally portentous i am forever the supreme optimist & i expect my club to aim for & reach for the ultimate no matter what our situation.

As for finishing higher than Port well that's just taken for granted regardless. :D

I agree Tredrea and Cornes will hold Port in good stead for the next 4-5 years. A decent pairing to build a team around

I dont agree about this talk of a premiership opportunity starting to open in 2007 (and I am the eternal Crows optimist). We are most likely mid range (6-12) team in 2005/2006 and thats with 5 STAR players in our side - our best 5 IMO - Roo/Macca/Goodwin/Edwards/Hart (hopefully). They will most likely be gone in 2007 or 2008 at the latest - we need to replace them AND improve on our current team to be a premieship threat - its not possible IMO for a few more years :(
