2006 Predictions - Newbie

Hello Board.

I am new to this board and would like to comment on the quality of discussion that goes on here. I read up a lot, some of my favourite posters are 'Stiffy_18', 'macca23' and even 'outback jack'.

I am looking forward to the 2006 season and I would like to see everyones predicted position for the AFC in 2006. For me personally it would be 3 or 4.

Stiffy 18 and macca23 are indeed great posters, outback jack is an interesting choice though

About the season ahead, my expectations is nothing short of making the top 8, so around the 5-6 spot. Hopefully we could make it into the top 4.

not sure about stiffy_18 and macca23, but outback_jack is certainly a wise choice the_chapel. I'm pretty much like adam_bk and think just outside the top4 will be on the cards with us playing more youngsters. Although the saints and westcoast are the only sides you'd say talent-wise should finish ahead of us and after that its pretty open so you never know.

Interesting choice of poster favourites ..how PAF* didnt make it into the frame amazes me.

On 2006 though....if the Crows dont make the top four ( sure we will get a couple of injuries ) Id be very surprised.

What they do once they get there is the $ 64 question.
Will Craigy get caught in the spotlight again?
Will key players go missing like a fa rt in fan factory?

Hell, after those glowing comments, I'm virtually obliged to respond to this thread. After all, it is very humbling to be included in such illustrious company as jackie boy!!

Firstly, thank you and welcome to the boards.

I think you're around the money at 3 or 4. A bad run of injuries could see us somewhat lower, but that applies to every team of course.

I think we'll have more forward options than last year, and more rotations for the mid-field. The key will be to keep Rutten, Bock, McGregor and Welsh, plus the ruckmen, on the park each week.

I can't see West Coast going backwards at all, and really St Kilda should improve, because they had a diabolical run with injury last year. Geelong and Sydney are the other teams in the mix for a top 4 spot IMO.

Barring bad luck, we really should have another good year, and who knows, we might even bring home the chocolates this year.

Actually I feel somewhat incomplete and unfulfilled jackie boy, havng the only one of the names above that doesn't have an underscore in their name.

Taking that into account, I can understand your uncertainty!!

As a neutral, I reckon the Crows will be top 4 again, if not fifth. Can't see them slipping down much more than that.

I'd expect a top four finish, myself. But then, I expect that every year.

But unless we are smited by the Injury Gods, then a top four shouldn't be that hard. Win 9 at home and 5-6 away, there's your 14 to 15 wins...

I'd really prefer we finished top again though. Am I being greedy? Possibly, but I would hope the players feel the same way.

well there was a macca_23 not so long ago, felt like a sum0005/welsh/adelaide creation, *PAF seemed particularly fond of him too.
