Could this be the year Nathan Buckley hands the Captains Role over to Jimmy Clement, I am a huge bucks fan but i reckon if he handed it over it would be even better for him next year. He would get the year to help jimmy become a even better leader, Any thoughts

Bucks will keep the captaincy next year, and he will hand it over to either Jimmy or Pebs in 2007.

As much as i would like to see Jimmy become captain i feel that our next captain will be someone else. I thought Josh Fraser would be our next captain but his hit a really bad slumpt at the moment. I'm not sure i think it's an interesting subject. I want Jimmy to get it but i think bucks will hold on for another year and hand it over in 2007 to josh fraser.

Clement deserves it more than Fraser and Clement is a better leader as well as a better player at the moment. Bucks should give Jimmy 2-3 years(From 2006) then Clement should give it to Fraser or someone like Ben Johnson or 'Tarks'.

Clement has done well but realisticly, Collingwood is going to need someone who is going to be there for along time. Its time for the club to re-build and go for a positive move. I think Fraser or Didak could both be a chance. Fraser maybe having not so good year this year but he missed alot of football and Didak is improving every week and is going to be a great captain.

As much as we want Buckley to stay forever, I think this will be the last season of his captaincy, and therefore bow out of his career at the end of 2006. Not to say he should, I just am presuming it will happen.

At the start of the year i would have said Fraser for captaincy, but you cant go past Jimmy. It just all depends on time.

Buckly is Collingwood's leader. All the players look up to him.

I agree that either Pebs or Jimmy will get it next but not just yet.

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't anyone else think that Didak and Fraser would be pretty ordinary captains? Didak especially. Just my opinion...

If he plays every game at a good Buckley type standard for the rest of this season he will be captian in 2006. One more injury and he'll stand down.

maybe bucks is waiting for a couple of the younge guys coming through to get there games right, i remember he had a press interview when he did his hammy and he was like he wasnt going to give it away till the time is right to the right person.

so i got a feeling it might be someone like fraser or maybe a smoky like didak any thoughts?

Didak does have some leadership materials but I don't think he'd be any chance for captaincy. Maybe in the future around 2008 we have either Fraser or Johnson as captain and Fraser/Johnson (whoever doesnt get it), Clement and Brodie as vice captain.

Have to admit I think Clement would make a fantastic captain, perhaps one of the best one on one defenders in the AFL at the moment.

Next Captain needs to be a week in week out contributor. No one will meet the consistecy and ability of Bucks unless we get real lucky. Frazer has not achieved this level of play yet and its hard to see who will from the current side.

Pebbles and Clement will be too old in my opinion, someone who has showed glimpses of being a week in week out type and bleeds black and white is BJ.He is a life long Collingwood man, and an obvious dream to him.
