Collingwood, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane are the big winners and Essendon, Fremantle and Richmond are the big losers from the 2007 AFL fixture, released on Wednesday......

Richmond has a good start to the year with its first six games in Melbourne but then it's all downhill from there.

Not only do the Tigers face back-to-back trips to Adelaide in round seven and eight but they also go to Perth twice and Geelong and they are one of the few teams to meet both of last year's grand finalists in Sydney and West Coast twice.

I'm happy with the draw because we don't have to play in Tassie :D

How can you be happy with it. Play in Adelaide twice in a row. Go to Perth bloody twice and Geelong.? Then we go to NSW as well. The afl might as well ****ing send us to qld while they were at it.

how can we be shafted, we finished 9th ffs so sooner or later we are going to play top 8 teams

* play sydney rnd 2, always slow starters
* coll, saints, essendon, cats twice which is good because they will be crap
* aami isnt what it used to be
* great start, good run home

forget about who made the eight this year look at the teams on the rise like the dogs and hawks who we only play once etc

So you wouldn't swap our draw with that of the Pies then?

The draw doesn't faze me overall, no tougher than 2006 IMO.

Back to back Adelaide games may turn out to be a positive, especially if we do well in the first week.

What peeves me off is that both of our games against Geelong are at their home grounds. Round 6, its our supposed "home" game and we play them at TD, that is ridiculous. Especially when you consider Melb will be playing Port at the MCG at the same time.

My favourite part was when I read this:

COLLINGWOOD:

Football:
A dream draw for the Magpies, who have more games in Victoria and more games at the MCG than any other club. The Pies play a total of 18 games in Melbourne - 15 of those at the MCG - meaning just four interstate trips. Yet again they only have to go to Adelaide and Perth once each while their last ten games of the season are all in Victoria.

Havent looked too hard at it but it looks reasonably tough. I think a 6 day break return to AAMI is pretty bad organising. I guess we'll see exactly what we will do by the first 5 games of the year.
Wouldn't mind betting they just stay over there. Perhaps a training camp somewhere for a few days maybe.

You've got to admit that two years in a row of 2 x AAMI and 2 x Subiaco is pretty ordinary, and then they chuck in SCG for fun. The real sh*tter is that I was going to give myself one interstate trip next year and was tossing up between Brisbane and Tassie.

Maybe I should book a romantic weekend at the Corio Flag Inn.

(Did you notice that not only do we get two 'away' games against the Cats but we're also at Skilled Stadium for the NAB Cup? Too much hillbilly exposure for one year)

Don't mind the Geelong NAb Cup game to be honest - living in Barwon Heads makes a short trip in and I can get on the sauce and get the missus to come and pick me up.
Interesting, if we win that, then it's a trip to Darwin the following week.

Was going to say the same thing but was too busy contemplating that being full of grog and ringing up the missus to pick me up might result in severe injury.
Scrap the pre-season comp anyway and play a 30-round season. Increase the lists and then it's up to the clubs to manage their players better, which means resting, say a Richo, every five games to get him through the season.
