Pick 44 - Adelaide - Tom Rockliff

With Vickery(the ruckman) and Heyne(the wingman/HFF) already taken earlier, the Crows will look to strengthen their forward line stocks. Rockliff works hard all the time and is fantastic at winning the contested ball. He isa goal kicker but sometimes does the unselfish things and gives to someone else in a better position. Should fit in well with the development of the tall timber in the Crows' forward line in Tippett, Sellar etc.

Pick 45 - Collingwood - Matt DeBoer

I was contemplating DeBoer at pick 29, and hoped eh would slip til this pick which he did. This guy is a big bodied inside midfielder. He had a good draft camp with top ten finished in the 20m sprint and 3km time trial. DeBoer's speed and ball winning ability will certainly excite the Magpies and if he gets his kicking straightened out, he has the potential to be a very dangerous player.

Pick 46 - Collingwood - Jamie Sheahan

With the inside midfield sorted, the Pies will look to add some more quality to the outside midfield stock. Sheahan is a very quick player and his skills are great. He has the ability to use the ball very well on either side of the body. Sheahan is competitive who usually wins the one on one contests and a very good. A great wingman who loves to chase and tackle.

Pick 47 - St Kilda - Mitch Banner

2 words. Ball magnet. Gets hauls of 20 - 30 possesions most games. Works both ways, offensive and defensive. He's tough in and around the contests, will not back away from a contest. He's a gut runner, will run all day. Has a penetrating kick on him, but it;s not always the most accurate of kicks. Something he'll need to work on. Watching him in the game against WA, he won a lot of clearances but seemed to just throw the ball on the boot, hoping it would land in VicMetros arms. Yeah, sometimes it worked but most WA just took an easy uncontested mark. That perhaps is one of his biggest flaws, his decision making. Was highly touted at the start of 08 after having a very good 07. Thought of to go in the 1st round. But a not so good 2008 leaves him languishing as a 3rd or 4th round prospect. If he can fix his flaws, particularly his decision making he could turnout to be a steal.

Pick 48 - St Kilda - Kade Klemke

Pick 48 - St Kilda - Jarred Redden

This was the hardest pick yet. Tossing up between 3 players. But I rate him higher than 48, so with that I couldn't let him slip by. The Saints ruck stocks look very shallow, and with Gardiner on the verge of retirement after season 2009, and King soon after. Our stocks look disastrous. Kosi is hardly a ruckman . McEvoy is progressing steadily and is looking like a ruck that pushes forward. Redden on the other hand is a ruck that gets into the defensive holes. He moves fairly well, his tap work is good and his skills are also good. What stands out the most though are his 2nd and 3rd efforts at the center bounce. Saints would be very pleased picking up Redden here.

Redden has already been selected at pick 41

No he wasn't, Jayden Post won the Jets best and fairest.

Anyway i agree with CHBench, i think he had a much better year last year. He played mostly as an inside midfielder last year which is where he would be likely to play in the AFL and showed promising signs. This year though he decided to play more outside for the Jets. Someone like him is not an outside prospect and he is not quick and his disposal can really let him down at times, to me he went backwards.

sorry about that. thanks.

he played the Q/B role for metro this year, with shuey and gotch playin the inside role

But that's the thing, that isn't his role. He should be playing an inside role, because of this, his deficiencies became more glaring, like his speed and kicking ability. I like the way Banner goes about his footy, make no mistake about that, just think the role he has played this year has hurt his chances. 4th/5th round for mine.

Ok, I'm very sorry, I came home from an engagement party, rather tipsy. Made the selection for Accepted late at night....

I have changed my selections, kept everyone elses the same. Redden selected twice has to be changed, that is about it.

Melbournes selection again.

Pick 50 - Hawks - Sam Wright

Basically a goal kicking winger, the hawks have scored some depth with their first two selection. Whenever you win a flag there are little holes in your team, hawks have got their CHB and HBF.. Now they have a winger and maybe a half forward.

Good on both sides of his body and should have plenty of time to develop.

Pick 41 - Brisbane - Hayden Ballantyne

*Shuey replacement*

They needed a small forward and here is a guy that can kick goals. His belated draft camp results showed he also has an engine, this gives him more of a chance to drift into the midfield.

It has only been his height that has held him back for so long, he does seem to play above his height shows. He should use his speed and defensive skills to work in tandem with Brown and Bradshaw

Pick 48 - St Kilda - Kade Klemke

Half back who in time will take the place of Gram or Goddard to allow them to push into the midfield. More to come....

but he obviously did that roel well if hes winning 3rd bnf and almost making all aus. Plus, how can you be expected to play an inside role when you have shuey and gotch in there! two boys, hard to replace

Fair enough, i just don't think teams would want to be seeing him play a role that is definitely not going to suit him at AFL level. It wasn't just at the Champs either, he did the same at the Jets.

Pick 52 - West Coast - Tom Hill

Taken a punt on the developing ruck for the Eagles. Got a KPP and a couple of mids so worth the punt.

Much more than a developing ruckman for me, i think he'll surprise a few people how high he'll go. He has the features to become a quality player at AFL level both in the ruck and up forward.

Nice pick by the way.

The developing part is more aimed at his body Cruiser than his ability as I agree with you on his talent.
