Interesting that Nick Ries would go from a very good wicket at Balwyn to playing for nothing at Collegians. That's a topic for another thread though I think.......

Interesting story in the Age today Nicho. Talks about all of the home grown talent that Collegians have brought in this year !
A spot poll would probably find most players would rather play with their mates in a lower grade and win flags, than play in A-C grade just for "the prestige".
What about the other clubs other than Collegians then? I'm pretty sure the blokes at SBMT dont play just for "the prestige".

its not my fault the blokes have to play ones at mostly sub standard clubs because many of them couldn't get a game in the ones at a higher grade club.
D4 is full of top quality footballers
A lowly D3 player here calling u a f*ckin tosser. U mustnt have many mates round ur club if u dont understand mateship, loyalty and most of all, the love of playing the game. We may not be as good but we still put our bodies on the line each week just like u blokes. (except u, i imagine ud be one of those blokes gloting about playing whatever grade getting 1/2 a game each week and 3 possessions.) please do not put a Jihad on me.

TRUE VAFA supporters know the true values that make our league the best going around. It starts in A Grade and goes through to Clubbies, encompassing some fantastic players,supporters, volunteers, culture and history.
If the above poster represents the thoughts of the Collegian Community then we should feel very sorry for their conceited beliefs.

Nearly all the boys playing at St. Bedes are local, played junior footy there and/or went to the school. I don't know if it's "prestige" but it is just to play with mates and amongst a group that know each other very well.
They're certainly not in the same category as Collegians and some of the other school teams in terms of recruiting players to come and play for "free".
