1 ANDREW WALKER

Andrew should be hoping for a full season under his belt and consistently performing well. He will mostly play on a HFF, HBF and the WING with stints in the CENTRE BOUNCE. Andrew would be looking at a top 10 finish in the B&F if he can get a full season under his belt. Should be safe from trade or delisting if he gets injured or plays badly.

2 JORDAN RUSSEL

Jordan would be hoping to cement his side for the entire season and peform week in week out quarter by quarter not five minutes of 5 touches and nothing for the rest of the game. If he can do this all the criticism on him should be lifted and more respect shall be earned. If he cannot do this he could be delisted or traded.

3 MARC MURPHY

Marc should be looking to rapping up the touches this year and getting a high percentage of of effective disposals this season. If he can do this he'll be known as one of the elites of the AFL. Will be looking to add 1% to his games because IMO he lacks it. He shall have a fine season so will be safe from any trades or delistings.

4 BRYCE GIBBS

Bryce should be looking to get alot of touches while stopping his man(a bit like Sewell). If he can do this he'll get a top 5 finish in our B&F. He should get some stints up forward due to his great ability to mark overhead and with body pressure on. He will be safe from delisitings of trades.

5 CHRIS JUDD

Chris should be looking to bring back his brownlow year form. With his blisterening pace running it out the packs to his pinpoint accuracy. If he can do this a top 5 place in the brownlow is a certaniny and Carlton making the 8. WILL NOT GET TRADED OR DELISTED.

6 KADE SIMPSON

Kade will wanna replicate his form from when he was captain. He'll be getting the cheap kicks which will effectivley let him run with the ball and hurt the oppisition on the rebound. Will want to get a defensive side to his game because Carlton have got some players similar to have yet with better kicking. should be safe from delisitings or trades.

7 ADAM BENTICK

Adam should be looking to break into the best 22 from round 1. He brings something that could shield Judd from getting so much hard ball. Adam gets the hardball and gives lots of defensive tackles. His disposal needs to be improved for 2009. Could be traded or delisted depending on his season.

8 MATTHEW KREUZER

Matt will be looking to get himself up as maybe a leading tall towards the wing like riewtowltd(however it is spelt) or little stints in the ruck depending how his body fines out. He'll wanna kick a few goals from the range of 20-30 and get some more hitouts into him. wont get traded or delisted

10 RICHARD HADLEY

Hads will be playing a similar role to Betick if he breaks into the 22. He'll be wanting to throw his body in there to get the hardball and feed of to the likes of gibbs murphy and co. He may be used as a depth player though. could get traded or delisited.

11 ROBERT WARNOCK

Warnock will be attemtping to get straight into the starting 22. He'll be wanting to get alot of hitouts and he wants to replicate Coxs work around the ground. Could be fighting for the ruck spot against. will not get traded or delisited

12 MITCH ROBINSON

Mitch will wanna play a few games in 2009 with his body ready built for AFL. If he dosen't break into the best 22 he'll be wanting to play at a high level in the VFL and learn the way Carlton play. Will not get traded or delisited.

13 CHRIS YARRAN

Chris will wanna break into our side against Richmond come round 1. Also he'll wanna have a Rioli impact in his first year of AFL. He would be hoping to kick 15+ goals in his first year of AFL. Will not get delisted or traded.

14 BRAD FISHER

Brad will wanna try to hold his spot as Krezuer develops and Cloke takes over CHF. He'll wanna be a lead up role on the wing and also kick 30+ goals in 2009. Could be in and out of our side alot. Will not get delisted yet could be traded.

15 STEVEN BROWNE

Browne will wanna cement his spot in the 22 after a solid 2008. He will probably be playing on a small forward most weeks with small stints in the midfield. Browne could be in and out of our side also. will not get traded or delisted.

16 SHAUN GRIGG

Shaun will wanna be playing like he did when he got the nab nomination all season though. He'll be used mostly as a winger yet will play of a HFF or BF depending on the team most of the time. Could push top 10 in Carltons B&F. wont get traded of delisted

17 SENTANTA O'HALPIN

Sentanta will most likely play on the bigger forwards in the competion allowing Jamison to develop a bit more. Sentanta Could be given a go up forward if Carlton are doing bad. Yet he'll be used prodominatley in the backline also I think he'll play 20+ games if he don't get injury. Wont get delisted of traded

18 PAUL BOWER

Paul should have well and secured his spot by round 1 and he'll play a Heath Shaw role IMO stopping his oppoent and rebounding of half back. Exciting things from this bloke in 09. Wont get traded or delisted

19 EDDIE BETTS

Eddie has been a loan hand for years as our small forward and now he has a partner in crime. He will get more goals this year and more tackles with the recruitment of Yarran. Could be traded not delisted

20 RHYS O'KEEFFE

Rhys will be hoping to perform well all season in the twos and will be given an oppurtunity if round 21 or 22 if we aren't a chance for the finals or we have already got our spot in the top 8. Fantastic left foot kick I belive? anyways wont be delisted or traded.

21 MARK AUSTIN

Austin will be fighting for a spot in our best 22 next year and should be given an oppurtunity also he could play forward if we really needed him to. Shouldn't get delisted or traded yet if there is some talk about trade he may get traded

22 SHAUN HAMPSON

Shaun will be looking for his best season yet and he will be wanting it to be in the firsts. He will honestly dominate in the twos if he is left there all season. But Warnock, Krezuer and Cloke will know they have to perform to keep there spot or else. Shouldn't get traded or delisted

23 ADAM HARTLETT

Adam must have a break or make season next year and he knows it. If he does get into the first watch him work his but of. If he can't do anything he will get delisted or traded for anything.

24 NICK STEVENS

Nick will be wanting to perform at his best of his ability this year the way we all know he can play. If he can do this he'll be Judds rival for the B&F. He will be damaging with the ball and his bigger body(muscle) should be able to bust through packs and give Judd some easy touches. Wont get delisted or traded.

25 BRENDAN FEVOLA

He'll only be wanting to get 60 + goals and alot more support in the forward line. He shall be getting more ball inside the 30m area instead or the 50m arc this year. Wont get delisted or traded unless he plays up?

26 JOE ANDERSON

Joe will be pushing for a spot in our starting lline up come round 1. He could potentially play anywhere come round 1. If he works hard enough he'll be rewarded playing most of the season. Shouldn't get delisted may get traded.

27 DENNIS ARMFIELD

Armfield is the quickest player in our team I belive so he'll be wanting to use that to his advantage. He could be taking the Milnes, Medhursts and davey those kinds of players that have wrecked us in the past. shouldn't get traded or delisted.

28 CAMERON CLOKE

Cloke could be a walk up start for 2009 in CHF. He has the ability to tear teams apart with his marking ability and kicking accuracy. Wont get traded or delisted

29 HEATH SCOTLAND

Heath will be playing in the middle or in the backline. Most likely going to be helping our younger backmen stick to their man and make them learn, he'll be the general down back. wont get traded or delisted

30 JARRAD WAITE

Jarrad is most likely going to play on the tall athletic KPP. He could also be used down forward and kick 40 goals with his ability. shouldn't get traded or delisted

31 JORDAN BANNISTER

Jordan Will most likely be our #1 tagger in 2009 he can play on smalls or talls down forward down back through the middle anywhere. WIll have to work hard to get his own touches though. wont get traded or delisted

32 BRET THORTON

Bret could be our player to play on medium sized forwards or the tall skinny forwards and can be played on the wing. Will be hoping to keep his spot with some quality backs now. wont get traded or delisted

33 RYAN HOULIHAN

Ryan is the most creative player in our team IMO. Ryan will wanna be playing all 22 games next year and kicking 30 goals.wont get delisted or traded

34 SIMON WIGGINS

Simon Will be hoping to contain his spot in the firsts with our depth been so great he could be put to the twos if he has bad form. wont be traded or delisted

35 CALEB TILLER

Caleb will be wanting to develop into the player Carlton want him to be. He wont be looking to make it to the firsts just keeping solid performances in the seconds. wont get traded or delisted

37 JAKE EDWARDS

Jake needa a make or break season just like Adam Hartlett. Jake needs to make it to the firsts and be kicking goals and be a helping hand to Fevola or he will get delisted or traded.

40 MICHAEL JAMISON

Michael will be wanting to back up his stellar performaces so far. If he can keep the likes of Lloyd Pavlich to less than 3 goals a game he wouldv'e done his job. wont be traded or delisted.

44 ANDREW CARRAZO

Andrew will be wanting to make his way back into the midfield after a year in the backline. He shall play an important role into us making the finals next year.

Thoughts?? also just tell me the players I missed and don't point out my mistakes(spelling ones) because this was very boring to do:p hope you all enjoy may not be online the next week. sorry about been a little lazy towards the end, also give me some constructive critisim if need be

As I read it, I kept thinking that we only need one other forward to really step up and we must make the finals :thumbsu:

Hopefully ( and fingers crossed ) Yarran is the man 5. :thumbsu:

Agree, but quietly hopeing Cloke, Kruezer or Yarran can fill that missing link.

With Warnock as number 1 ruckman who does everyone think will play as our 2nd ruck?

I would say it will be rotated between Cloke , Hampson and Kruezer.

We are going to have some dangerous Talls next year floating forward and causing Havoc for opposition backs! ;)

very good write up gibbsy . i agree with you on all fronts... gibbsy most improved in the league and judd brownlow .. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the Kreuz can hook into the ruck then we'll start smashing , the earlier the better .

No, i don't think we have a number 1 ruckman yet. I definitely wouldn't be giving that mantle so quickly out to Warnock. Ratten should make him earn that spot rather just handing it to him on a platter. Lets be honest, he has plenty of potential but hasn't achieved much at AFL level yet. There is still a fair bit of muscle and work to go into him for him to improve and step up into the role of a first choice ruckman. Obviously like all of us, i'm hoping he is willing to work really hard and takes over as our number 1 ruckman very soon but i think it's too early to expect alot from him straight away.

We have 3 very young ruckman in Kruezer, Warnock and Hampson, right now i wouldn't say we have a first choice. I would think we may play 2 of those fellas in the ruck and split there time until one of those players becomes worth of the tag. Maybe i'm being a little harsh but i don't think we should get ahead of ourselves, right now there all still developing ruckman.

Well, with the way Clokey held down Centre Half Forward in the last few games of the season (9 goals from his last 5 games in 2008), we may just have found ourself someone to fill that void.

The inclussion of Yarran also helps a lot with Fisher just receiving an injury.

Nice work BG, You might need a week off after that effort.

Much too interesting read to worry about spillign mitsakse!:D

Agree with Warnock at No 1. He needs a big PS to earn the respect of his team mates.

We were smashed in hit outs last year and he needs a good go in the ruck. Kreuzer and Hampson as back up.

Hopefully Cloke will get an extended run forward and only sparingly used as a ruck option.

Thought Bannister will need a big year to avoid trade talk or delisting.

My thoughts are Wiggins is more likely to be delisted than Hadley.

No one will trade for Hadley...Betts won't be traded.

I can see Wiggins, Bentick, Bannister and Hartlett/Edwards being cut at the end of next year.

Wiggins just isn't in our best 22 if Houlihan, Yarran and Hadley are fit.

Possibly a exchange of third and fourth round picks to find Bentick a new club like the Ray and Shaw trades.

And Houlihan isn't the most creative player on our team.

LOL.

I could see Russell being traded if he plays a dozen games next year and impresses, but an infinitely more talented player in Yarran steps up to take his place and force him out of our best 22.

Doubt it will happen.

Russell wouldn't want to leave and Ratten appears to be a fan.

While 1 poster was abused for discussing next years possible delistings I woulike to add to the list now that the topic has been raised.

Many have pencilled Cam Cloke for a role at CHF.....while not dismissing him I am far from convinced he will succeed.

If he is a flop up fwd and his role as a ruckman is nearing its end, a big bodied tall might well be the type of player GC17 will need while its talls develop......he may actaually be of trade value.

Cant see Betts being traded or delisted.....just too talented.

Fisher I believe may also be put up for trade as he was last trade week.
If other tall fwds succeed his lack of defensive pressure, lack of ability at ground level and poor kicking may see him also offered for trade again.
I would rather keep wiggo than Fish as he more competitive across more areas and is a genuine leader at the club.

If Banno picks up from where he left last year he will stay. Appears to be a late bloomer like Wiggo.

Agree that Bentick,Harts, Jake will need to show unbeleivable improvement to have any chance of staying.

I disagree with your thoughts on Warnock C23.......I think Warnock will be given a very sustained chance to establish himself as no 1 Ruck.
We didnt trade those picks in this draft to have him languishing in the Magoos. He will start the season at somewhere near the 100kg mark and jumps hard into his opponent.
Warnock also has a few extra years development as well as significant height on Hammer and Kreuz and will get every opportunity as he should at least break even with most at ruck contests.

If Hammer reaches the reqd level I would expect him to relieve Warnock in the ruck with Kreuzer spending the majority of him time Fwd being groomed as our future CHF.

If Walker has another season interupted by injury then he should be shopped around as trade bait

I'm not saying play him in the 2nds, i just don't think we should expect him to come in straight away and perform miracles. I think Kruezer has just as much right to take that mantle, if not more than Warnock does. He should be made to earn his spot rather than just be given that opportunity first up because lets face it, he ain't no Judd. He may have had a few more pre-season but he started a few seasons behind everyone because of his weight. In terms of experience, you know he has played only 1 more AFL game than Kruezer has right? To me, experience comes from matches, so he is no more experienced than Kruezer is.

I think split the time between the two, let Hampson keep developing in the Bullants and give an opportunity to Cloke to establish himself at CHF. If Warnock is showing he is capable during the NAB Cup and the first few games of the season then i've got no problem with him as our number 1 ruckman. To me, it's just too early.

I'm sure Ratten will make the right decision either way.

Warnock has played 20+ (23 I think) GAMES WHILE kREUZ STILL IN THE TEENS - splitting hairs I know but he has also had more experience rucking against men with strong bodies in the WAFL.

I also think MK is undersized by ruck standards these days and will only pinch hit there.
I am far from sold on Cloke being able to make it as a CHF and have heard from inside sources that we would like to develop Kreuz as a fwd.

Think Kreuz definately has more potential than Warnock up fwd so even if they do share the duties I dont think it will be an even time split

Matt has actually played 20 games, debut rd3 against the Bummers!
