There's a thread on this in the Drafts and Trading board, but I thought it'd be alright to bring it here.

Trial Game - WA U18 vs WA U20

Comments from people who saw the game (hope you guys don't mind):
Very enjoyable game today.

WA has a better side than last year, midfield looks great and defence is pretty good too.

Chris Luff and Hayden Busher where impressive in the key defensive posts along with Jack Darling.

Travis Colyer will really hurt teams if given space, his pace and ball use is classy.

Up foward having Kane lucas one out at full foward was a different tactic that could work well on a dryer day.

I have noticed alot of you guys having a go at Collica but he was very good today in patches.

Brandon Matera what can i say hes a hog but has all the skills.

Wonderful wonderful goal from the pocket next to that swamp area, he is such a good crumber and finisher.

Luke Foster was impressive till he went of injuried very physical kid who likes to throw his weight around.

Joel Houghton moves well leads well gets in the right position to mark just didn't quite come of for him today, will be dangerous in the championships is a good size too at 195cm's.

Our only real problem is the rucks we really look vunerable there Hayward good at taps but not much else.

Flashes of brillance by Nat Fyfe and Nicholas Winmar where my highlights those boys do like to take the game on.

Overall our midfield will be hard to beat we have a lot of options through there, I liked how our coach went from a mosquito fleet in the middle to giants at other times seemed to work well.

(Quoting from the afldraftinfo.com site)
Anthony Morabito –played off a wing and WA were frequently looking to run the ball through him as 33 possessions and 11 I50s would suggest, he did a massive amount of work and was only rested briefly. Wrras consistent th He showed his typical traits: clean hands, pace, evasiveness, core strength, sound dual sided skills and a good overall work-rate. Will go into the U18 championships with a big reputation and as one of the most in form I’d expect he’ll have a big U18 championships and be one of the leading contenders for the Larke medal.

Also, there were a few recruiters at the WAFL vs SANFL game.

Jetta played horribly though, so noone there will be interested.

Morabito ended up on

please tell me you were kidding about the comment on Jetta. Absolutely carved up, ended with 16 possesions and 3 amazing goals. Easily one of WA's best

Spud.

First two goals were before SA started paying attention, and last was a consolation goal.

DO NOT RATE HIM.

I heard he's very troublesome off-field as well and has killed over 100000000 people.

So he's definitely to risky for any club to pick.

If you're an eagles recruiter, please pick him, I lied

Yeh
Heard he's doing time at bandiyup womens prison as he soo soft, and they let him out on the weekends to play a mans game for punishment.

Wouldn't expect him to play again this year......

This kid is the bomb WCE recruiters do the right thing and draft him FFS

Tambling > Jetta

I saw Leroy out at 3:30am Saturday morning, 9 hours before the state game, asked him why he wasn't resting up for tomorrow. He came up with some drunken induced jumble...still trying to put together what he said ;)

I think he could end up being one of WA's best in the carnival, beautiful kicking action.

So he could end a late first rounder.

Let's assume WCE get a pick in the top 5 this year, which seems likely. Who would people like to see us take? Half fwd/wing physically developed player like Morabito, silky skilled tallish midfielder like Lucas, solid back/mid/leader type like Duncan, Hutchings, Sheppherd, someone else? This weekends game might even unearth a new prospect.

yeah, and definitely not Jetta, he's not even worth the time of day ..

We also need to inject a bit of speed into our midfield. Hopefully that can be Ashley Smith (or Swift), but its always good to have someone that no one can catch and can deliver it perfectly to our forwards.

Best available, like always, IMO.

Although I don't think we should take a ruckman unless he's a clear standout because he already have Nait.

And while it's conflicting with what I said about ruckmen, I would totally take a KPP if he was the best available, even though we have Brown, Kennedy and Mackenzie already.

Can't believe Damian Hayward is playing state. Used to play Colts against him and he was never really THAT good...

He's not bad at taps but around the ground he is terrible.

But he will get a game cause of his height one of the few tall ruckamn available.

I used to have nightmares about trying to beat him in the centrebounce, but as you say around the ground he was never that good.

His brother was a much better footballer.
