I think Simpson. Kruezer and Gibbs are probably too young. I don't feel like it's murph's type of role but he may excel if given the chance.

Simpson runs too hot and cold for my liking,i'd prefer Murph he's had a good year so far and you can really see his improvement.

I'm going in a different direction to everyone else and nominate Michael Jamison.

In fact I'd want him to be the next captain after Judd, Jammo just has 'leadership' stamped all over him, has a great attitude and a work ethic, and speaks really well and maturely.

Heard Grant Thomas say something on that Monday footy program that has merit.

He suggested choosing players that might be able to improve their game by holding a leader role. Example at our own club is Stevens - had Stevens been given the captaincy, and Judd the VC, I have a feeling that we would have seen a more committed Stevens this year.

I voted Murphy, however I doubt the VC would lift him to any greater heights - he'll get there himself. (Likewise Waite)

However the VC might do wonders for someone like Simpson - it might lift his game to a new level, or at the very least rid his game of inconsistencies.

Based on that, it would probably be more beneficial to give it to a player like Simpson, who is no worse a choice than anyone else anyway.

He is our second best player this year and has really taken a step up. He is a Whitefriars boy and is therefore a top bloke. He treats his body like a temple and does the hard yards on the track.

I think Murphy and Gibbs should both take over Captain and Vice in a few years time. I'd really like to see Waite take VC next year.

Worked for Carwford. Maybe it would work for Murphy/Gibbs/Waite.
