G'day Pie Guys,

I thought I'd start a thread for those who want to guess our Membership numbers for next year.

I'm throwing out 64,211

Wouldnt be surprised if, with all the 3-4 game memberships thrown in, we get closer to 70. Pie in the sky stuff perhaps!

I reckon it'll be up around 68k pushing 70 considering we had 57K this year and I'm pretty sure we had something like 10,000 who didn't resign from 2009..I don't know how many of those signed up later in the year when they realised we'd be good though.

For the closest to the exact number, I'll throw in a big $10 on Swannie for the Chas / Pies Premiership double - that should return at least $8.24!

Memberships go on sale on the 12th of October according to what I read yesterday.

I'll go with 70,112. But that depends on what the MCG can actually hold for us. We might end up with a waiting list!

We will have 60K by the time the season starts, that's almost guaranteed.

Then add another 3-4K on the day the flag is unfurled at the MCG.

Then add another 3-4K after we start 6-0.

Then the cut off date isn't till July.

I'd say we will push 70K, if not break it.

Can we get the Vic Govt to build a stadium for us if we get 70k members?

I don't know why people sit here guessing and contemplating, when it takes 30 seconds to call the club to find out.

I just did that and here's what I discovered:

Memberships to go on sale late November.

Renewing members will receive a pack around that time.

If you were not a member prior, you will need to ring the club and register your details to receive a membership pack in late November.


As per the OP, I'm guessing 75k.

In 2010 I was an AFL member with Collingwood club support but before that I was a member through Collingwood for years. Next year I want my AFL membership but a Collingwood one as well, will I have to register my details or will they send me a renewal pack because I have previously been a member?

AFL members are included in the count also, aren't they? So Collingwood would have about 78,000 seats available to it's members as the MCC takes up around 22,000 or 23,000 seats.

To save starting a new thread, what's everyone's view on what package to take?

I would rather get something like the legends package which allows you to register for tickets to the finals and potentially GF if they make it, but it also means to get value for money you need to go to a lot of games during the season.

With a legends m'ship can you also take guests or non members to sit with you anmd reduced costs etc?

Good point, they will have to look at capping the Legneds membership as people will jump on in order to guarantee GF tickets.
