Is Callinan likely to play, might have him idlf he plays rnd 1, could be the Barlow of 2011.
My locks:
Pavlich ( no bias ) ( more mid time and more free up fwd with Anthony)
Ablett (less talent around to steal possesinos, good or bad?)
or Swan
Sandilands
Bock

waiting to see if Barlow plays nab cup and how ge goes, will be expensive. He has had an uninterrupted pre season so I dunno.

I actually think Pav scores better playing as a forward, at least in SC. He kicks more goals and has more assists/contested marks. In the midfield he gets a lot less marks and goals and his quick kicks and clearances are often rushed.

Ablett is going to be expensive. Without seeing him play I'd only pick him in my starting team if he was listed as a fwd/mid. He's a gun, but how much less are his team mates going to get the ball and how much less protection will they give him? On top of that how many wins and game winning plays is he going to be involved in? It's hard to say when nobody has seen GC play yet I guess.

As for Swan I don't see much changing in his game. If he's not injured he'll have a similar year to 2010.

Sandi and Bock, who knows. Bock seems to be injury prone these days. Sandi should be the highest scoring ruckman, or close to it. Finally having a back up ruck will help him stay fit, and he does a good enough job in the forward line. He'll be expensive though.

Lock in cheapy: Mzungu (FRE)

Should play most games, great delivery by foot and should be priced around the 90k mark.

I doubted going Ablett last year and went Selwood who let me down a bit.
Now that Gold Coast are going to focus most of there play around him and those poor scared kids are just going to be looking for him to dish the ball off I might need to lock Gablet in.

The only problem will be if all the sides playing against thim Tag him out :(

Which way do you go? I suppose the Nab Cup will reveal all...

IMO there is generally always a 'big scorer' on each team (the winning & losing). While there is almost always more on the winning team someone on the losing team will generally have a pretty good game SC points-wise.

I can't see Ablett's price or avg going up given the predicted lack of support expected @ GC. I reckon they'll drop a touch. However, even if GC is horrendous, Ablett will be just about the only bloke with the ability to score big. Win or lose. He'll be the one player at GC who is almost always going to outscore everyone else and 'steal' the points.

Resultantly, Ablett will be an upgrade for me after his price comes down.

Yeh forgot Mzungu and there's a chance he could be listed as mid/fwd/def anyone.
Avg. 28 possies and a scoring shot a game in the wafl. Should be under 100k and as I said could be a measley cheap bf whilst playing in the mid at freo.

While I'm here posting... I've been considering some of last years standouts, specifically in the FWD line:

jPod: Will he be worth the cash this year?
Brown: He was on fire early on last year before injury set in... And possibly without Fev he could be a pretty decent pick up.
RoK: Again, injury slowed him down but he was in career best form pre-injury IMO and should be pretty cheap??
Tippett & Dangerfield: Both burnt me bad last year, really bad. Tippett looked great toward the end of the year though...

On a side note:
Barlow: What kind of premium do you think we'll get him at (if at all)?? He was a very consistent scorer last year too which is exactly what I'm looking for this year in my guns.

jPod: Seems like he's close to fully priced. If you're looking to take advantage of price fluctuations to upgrade him, I'd be looking at Fevola, assuming he starts. Wouldn't touch either personally though.

Brown & ROK: Both tempting. Bit of a dice roll and I think you summed it up well. One note: I don't think Fevola negatively impacts on Brown's scoring. Brown is still the prime forward and plays further away from goal than Fevola, even if he does play.

Barlow won't be discounted, he played too many games. As a result he should be at full price based off his average, which is a lot to pay for a second year player coming back off a broken leg. Given the large number of decent midfielders I'd pay the same amount of cash for someone less risky.
