So pumped for the upcoming season!

Go Tigers

I think a few of you are ignorant to the gains and losses at Perth going by your ladder predictions.

Losses: Mathew Ferguson (Vic), Ashley Thornton (returned to Peel), Tendai Mzungu (Fremantle - though will play for Perth if not for Frem), Clay McLernon (Claremont), Will Sullivan (ex WCE ruckman)

Gains: Damon White (ex Perth player who's brother plays for Perth - returns from North Adelaide via Port Power) will play CHF, Aaron Zucconi (returns from a year off in ammo's), Jarrod Kayler-Thompson (returns from Hawthorn), Dean Dick (apparently determined to turn things around), Seamus Young (Ross Young's brother who had an impact in 2008), Frank Agostino (ex EP captain or vc - still only 26 and reckons his knees are good after a break from WAFL), Peter Agostino (Franks brother), Aaron Wheeler and Aaron Baker (both ex EP), Rob DeJongh (ex EP 200cm ruckman - spent 4 years in SA playing for Norwood and West Adel)

Plus we will pick up 3 AFL allocated players, probably WC ruckman Lycette with first pick. I think our gains far outweigh our losses and we've hung onto players like Ross Young and Matthew Moody who were tipped to be possible losses.

I think we are good enough to be a top four chance, my tip is 4th - 6th. A lot will depend on fitness/injuries.

A lot of big "if" players there

Damon White, Jarrod KT, Aaron Zucconi and Seamus Young are not "if" players. That's 4 very good in's for 2011 and "if" the likes of Dean Dick puts his best foot forward and Agostino's knees stand up that's 6 very good in's.

Dream on dude.

I will give you a tip Father Christmas isn't true.

You may improve but you are not finals contenders.

I could use those exact same words to describe the WCE's chances in 2011. ;)

Look forward to clashing with the Claremont Tigers in 2011.

DeJongh and Seamus Young, that's all I'll give you as good ins. Maybe K-T, who I personally don't like, but he's a good WAFL player. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for the Agostino brothers. Sorry. :(

Not surprised you are feeling a little cocky Swannies, you are the reigning premiers and these days are looking more and more like the new Subi of the WAFL. You are even stealing players off them. With BHP backing a WAFL club it's no surprise. Apparently SD are paying Phil Smart $130k as football manager. That is obscene money in the WAFL. We were very competitive with your premiership winning side last year with an inferior list to what we will have this year. We lost narrowly the first time, defeated you the second time and though you blew us away in the 3rd game we still managed to kick a respectable 16.8. Look forward to Perth v SD clashes in 2011. ;)

agostinos knees arent ever going to stand up and he wont finish pre-season.. if going to training once and not being able to run counts as even starting pre-season

No one said we were pinning hour hopes on Frank Agostino. I am surprised as anyone he's training with Perth but one Perth supporter said his brother works with Frank and he said his knees feel good and apparently he's been playing for Baldivis last year and kicked a lot of goals. I treat him as a bonus if his knee's hold up and he plays 20 odd games for us. He's still only 26 so he's not over the hill yet.

My argument is more to do with the likes of former Port Power KPP Damon White returning from Adelaide as well as Kayler-Thompson, Zucconi and Seamus Young. Dean Dick is another enigma but he's still very young and if he displays the right attitude he can be anything.

I rate Seamus Young, if he replicates that last year he played where he was very impressive, as the biggest get. K-T will do what he does but most clubs should have woken up that a hard tag will sort that out. Damon White could be a good get. Hopefully the new coach can get something out of them and I reckon any major improvement will come through the younger guys like Elari, Sneeuwajt et al.

I hope I'm right when i say I think you'll find we will have quite a potent forward line this year and I think our backline will stand up quite well. There are 1 or 2 names you probably aren't familiar with who played mainly reserves last year who will get opportunities this year. I think we might be lacking 1 or 2 class players in the midfield but our AFL players might help us there. I think we will also be stronger in the ruck and big man dept overall.

We might surprise a few by the looks of it.

Until Perth consistently perform on the field you will surprise a lot. TBH Perth have been promising a bit for a few years now, but failed to deliver. Yes, that's harsh, but it's the truth. I think they've had a more talented list than say Peel and Subi last year, yet finished below them still. So until they do it consistently they'll surprise a lot of people, if you get my drift.

No you're wrong there. Last year next to no recruiting took place and we lost Brendon Jones (Peel), Jarrod KT (Hawthorn), Dean Dick (walkabout), Aaron Zucconi (ammo's), Josh Krueger (retired) and Troy Cook (mid year retirement). If any club suffers those sort of losses without replacing them you are going to struggle. Still we knocked off the eventual premiers and pushed Claremont at Claremont so there were some promising signs.

The only recruits were 2 from ammo's and one wasn't available til mid season due to work commitments and Mcleod from EF who had only played a few league games. We might be the big surprise packet of the season since so many are writing us off already.

Haha you have got to laugh ...yes Perth did beat Swans at Lathlain last year only just mind you but what you fail to realise is nearly a dozen of the eventual premiership side were missing that day as most were rested! Anyways keep talking the Demons up buddy you would think after 34 lean years you would learn your lesson but it would seem not!

Ha ha got to laugh!! There is one common denominator in the first 2 games we played each other. In the first game at Eftel we looked home midway through the last qtr when guess who came to your rescue? Probably one of the most influential AFL listed players to play in the WAFL in the past 10 years, Ashley Hansen. He dragged you over the line that day by 16 points and guess who was missing the second time around when we defeated you?

I'll let you work that one out. Luckily for you the WCE have handed you Ash Hansen on a plate for next season as a fully fledged SD player. Luckily for you guys no other AFL club picked him up. Some WAFL clubs get lucky i guess.

Maybe Perth might have similar luck this year if we pick up young WCE ruckman Lycette. He is unlikely to get an AFL opportunity while Cox and Natanui are fit but knowing our luck Cox will have injury problems and Lycette will get called up.

And what about the 3rd game we played no mention???? ;) ..at the end of the day one side went on to be Premiers in one of the greatest GF's in history while the other side went on to claim the Wooden Spoon with Peel who lost 10 games by over 100 points finishing above them! OUCH

But that's entirley my point r'n'b. I didn't think Subi's or Peel's teams were anything much, I thought you were at least equal. Yes, we lost to Subi as well, which was as much a result of the mental pain they had dealt out for the past 5 years as anything, but it showed the evenness of the comp overall.
