Typical... Melbourne gets to play GWS twice next year, following this year being able to play GC twice.

Are they the whores of the AFL? Seriously, if that club cant finish in the top 8 next year, the AFL has a responsibility to shut the club down.

We look like getting Port twice this year... we have a reponsibility to win both games to ensure that draft pick is better for us next year.

We'll be bitch slapped like we always are.

mmm calm ya farm man.... we are not a pathetic club that need to play a bunch of 18 year olds to get places in Ladder.

as long as we beat melbourne i will be happy

id laugh so hard if GWS beats them

Re: 2012 Fixture issues...

I would be more concerned with us losing the opening match of the season.

Re: 2012 Fixture issues...

Meh...

When we're good enough it won't matter who we play.

Re: 2012 Fixture issues...

So Melbourne & North Melbourne will have an advantage over Essendon, Sydney, Richmond, St.Kilda & Western Bulldogs for those final spots in the eight...

A little pissed off, but I'll wait and see the actual fixture. I can already assume for Richmond...

1. We will play Essendon, Carlton, Port Adelaide, Brisbane & Melbourne twice.

- We always play Essendon, Carlton & Brisbane twice.
- We seem to get Port twice and it's rumoured on Herald Sun's website.
- We didn't get GC twice last year, didn't get GWS twice this year, surely we'll get GC twice this year...but the AFL hate us, so it's Melbourne...

2. Our interstate trips will be as followed

- Fremantle @ Subiaco.
- Gold Coast @ Cairns.
- Brisbane @ Brisbane.
- Port Adelaide @ Adelaide.
- Sydney @ Sydney.
* Gold Coast @ Metricon a distinct possibility due to our sold home game.

3. Three Friday Night Matches + One Thursday Night Match.

- Thursday night will be against Carlton.
- Friday night likelihoods against Melbourne, Hawthorn & Essendon (later in the season).

4. We require GWS in Melbourne. Playing GC only once and in Cairns, along with playing GWS only once aswell, we should get that home game against them.

5. Probability of victory next season

- Essendon 1/2 (50% on our level)
- Melbourne 1/2 (50% on our level)
- Brisbane 2/2 (85% have the wood over them)
- Port Adelaide 2/2 (70% bogey team)
- North Melbourne 50% (on our level)
- St. Kilda 55% (Surely we've passed them on the way up whilst they are down)
- Western Bulldogs 55% (bogey team, but once again, on the way up, they are down)
- Adelaide 70% (Should be in Melbourne and they are shit)
- Gold Coast 85% (They are too young, can't explain how we lost last time however)
- GWS 99% (If we don't win this, time to wrap up the season)
- Hawthorn 20% (don't do too bad against them, however they're looking really good)
- Fremantle 35% (I just don't see us beating them in Perth).
- West Coast 45% (Playing them in Melbourne makes it winnable, however they are really good).
- Carlton 5% (Rule these two out, if we miraculously win one, it's a sign we may be ready, massive wood over us).
- Collingwood 3% (Yea, rule a line over it, we weren't too bad for a few quarters against them this year).
- Geelong .005% (Beaten them like 8 times since 1983..yeahh...rule it out, we have to beat them sometime however)
- Sydney 50% (good recent record against them)

So if I add in all these wins...

11 for the season, may just finish 9th again.

Re: 2012 Fixture issues...

No need to get bent out of shape about the fixture. Do you remember in 1996 we got 17 (no typo) games at the MCG and you know how that ended up. Maybe you were supporting the Roys back then and don't remember. We play who we play and who cares what other teams get.

Every year there will be a good team that duds out and a dud team that comes good. Getting wound up about the fixture is a futile exercise, it's like worrying about what jumper number a new kid is going to wear next year. A waste of time that fills in a dull October I guess.

Personally I am happiest that we get the opening game against Carlton again as it should hopefully become our (i.e. Richmond and Carlton) version of the Anzac day game.

Re: 2012 Fixture issues...

Anyone know who we play Round 2 and what day it is? Wife wants to go to Thailand on the Saturday(31st) following the Blues game and get back either Friday or Saturday for Round 2. We only have 3 Friday games for the seasons it sounds like, so Round 2 sounds like it'll be on Saturday or Sunday so I'll probably make the game

Re: 2012 Fixture issues...

I know this isn't about Richmond.

But gee, the cats win the flag, and go straight to Perth round 1.
The Pies however, don't go to Perth, at all.:confused:

You'd better! Don't want the crowd to be down :p

GC/GWS seem to double up against teams they poach players from in their first season.

GC: Geelong (Ablett), Dogs (Harbrow), Crows (Bock), Lions (Rischitelli/Brennan)
Note: Nathan Krakouer/Josh Fraser were minor inclusions and not in original teams best 22 warranting late compo and dont count.

GWS: Adelaide (Davis), Melbourne (Scully). Suprised Doggies or Freo didnt get in over North but you can see why Syd/GC get an extra crack.

On another note Port should struggle this year with those double up teams (exc. us :p)

Re: 2012 Fixture issues...

I think you guys played the Suns this year. What was the final score? My internet's not working and I can't check the scores.

I will wait and see how the schedule pans out once it is released but we had 2 games vs Port and 1 game vs GC (away) last year for 3 easy wins. It looks like it is going to be 2 vs GWS and 1 vs Port next year so don't really see any significant difference unless we get more than 1 game vs GC as well.

No one is getting two games against both GWS and GC; they've said that.

I don't know you, but I like you. :thumbsu: Where do I sign your petition?

Re: 2012 Fixture issues...

I dont know how to put it avoiding bad taste but I wonder how much the AFL giving the Dees these draws are for Jim Stynes and the good news story potential for the league it would be if the Dees made the finals "for Jim."
