Ok, seeing as the 2011 season has well and truly finished, I was wondering what will be happening with our guernsey next year. Richmond has recently showcased its new pre-season gear, and I imagine we and other clubs will be doing likewise in the near future.

Our white away guernsey has few fans, and it has been around for the obligatory two years. I imagine we will move away from this design to something more representative of our core colours and not just our abysmal logo. The CROWmania Website has been selling our current guernseys at a 40% discount since the last few rounds of the season, so it can be assumed that something is in the pipeline.

Also, as usual, there have been rumours circulating that Reebok will withdraw from the AFL merchandise industry. How much truth there is to this, I've no idea.

Several good proposals have been posted on the Footy Graphic Design board, with many suggesting a predominantly yellow theme for our away guernsey. I believe there are also a few who advocate the incorporation of several features of the 20th Anniversary Heritage strip, into our home guernsey.

Has anyone heard anything significant in regards to guernsey changes? If so will we keep the current manufacturer and label? Otherwise we can just discuss what we'd like to see, or what direction the club will likely head in.

Matt from Crowmania also told me that they aren't changing. He said the reason for the 40% off is because they are overstocked but I dunno it seems weird, Rebel and Amart and a few other places I have seen the guernseys for $60 or $80. Seems weird?

Agreed. It is a disgrace and one of the worst things the AFC have ever done.

I liked the away guernsey we had in the early part of the decade just gone. We dished out some thumpings in that jumper. :thumbsu:
 
I like the home jumper as it is now. But want Adidas back as a sponsor. Their supporter stuff was so much better than Reebok.

Plus we always do well with Adidas jumpers on.


Dont care much about the away jumper. Dont like it but meh. I would prefer an inverted home jumper with yellow as the main colour instead of blue.
 
I don't really mind the white jumper that much, but I really loved our old away before this, the 1996 preseason jumper remake. The problem I have with the white one is how they seemingly designed the new AFC logo for the sole purpose of making that guernsey. Very lame.

Also. The Reebok collars not being straight still annoys me!
 
I actually like the white away jumper that we currently have. I hope we continue to keep it for a while before we change to something else, I guessing once we change clothing manufactors again we'll have an obligatory design change in order to help sell more jumpers.

That's probably my all time favourite guernsey. From memory it was still classed as "too dark" to be a clash though.
 
I don't mind them having a white jumper - there are actually a few teams with whom we have quite bad colour clashes at times.

The issue I have is with that hideous raptor's head wrapped around it. Remove the logo that only appears to the infantile and come up with something decent. That's my suggestion.
 
Problem with us changing the horrible white jumper?

It sells. I know more people who wore that to footy trainings this year than any other crows guernsey.
 
Any reason we can't use this as our clash jumper?

It's based on an old state guernsey. Imagine if Port decided to wear a state guernsey. Or WCE or anything. It just can't be done. But I think we should do something that is similar to that. A predominately yellow guernsey is the way to go.

Wern't our colours based on state colours?

It's an adaptation based on a state guernsey. It's not an actual state guernsey.
 
Ahh alright seems like I got it a little wrong. Well in that case, lets wear the 2005 heritage and stuff what the Power think! :)
 
Since we changed the logo and the away strip how many away games have we won....hmmm...Also the logo, just crap.

a theory: players do not want to play in such a lame away strip no matter how much imploring the coaches do, its all in the mind. Our three big floggins last season were wearing the "cursed" white strip. Coincidence?

Get rid of it now AFC.
 
Port introduced what most believe to be one of the best home and away strips in the comp and narrowly avoided a spoon.

I'm still all for getting rid of it and our logo though. :thumbsu:
