Have always thought that ^

There are a couple of guys from the US from the Bball system currently at the combine in melbourne, interested to see how they go.

Imagine plonking Dwight Howard at full forward! Lebron in guts... Rajon Rondo in the forward pocket!!!
We don't play good footy in the third as it is, Let's not screw up the 4th too.

I truly think that an ex-College or NFL tight end could crack the AFL as a gun forward. Soild frame, height, fairly quick, Getting Serperation, good hands, not being afraid of contact are all plusses. Kicking, handballing and Footy IQ are some of the draw backs but can be teachable. I think the Suns are just the team to give this a whirl. They taught Karmichael to football after all.

Tight end not a bad should. Endurance would be a question mark. If Karmichael thought it was tough, these guys will find it a nightmare. I think a 6'5 tight end who played college/HS basketball would be great though.

Forwards don't need as much endurance as mids and run extra endurance in the off season. You would also be surprised by how fit some of those guys are.

Jimmy Graham of the Saints would be perfect.

If a guy from the states makes the Suns list, you will never, ever hear the end of it from me. Guy will be getting care packages from Boston from a guy he never met just for getting a sniff.

Btw, you don't want NFL guys playing AFL. They lack the stamina, it's all about getting somewhere as fast as possible and then resting a few minutes. NFL bodies are too big and too specialized.

Basketball however is the perfect sport. Small rosters but require constant involvement in 5 on 5 with moving the ball up and down the court in a series of short sprints with hand eye coordination constantly in use. That sounds like AFL to me. Big thing you need to understand is the majority of kids here in the states grow up playing basketball, soccer and football (especially in the south) but only basketball is played year round...indoors, outdoors. The limited roster space professionally but the insane amount of college programs really creates a dirth of players that are left with no outlet after college.

Perfect fit i say.

I'd bet if anyone makes it, Eric Wallace makes it. Stick him on a development side like the Doggies or Port that need young fit mature age bodies that can develop, or maybe a Richmond.

Here is an interesting article on the list squeeze and the agonising decisions ahead......
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149171/default.aspx

It will hot up shortly regarding the "final final lists".

From my counting GCS need to delist/trade another 4 unknowns at this stage.

Gone or intending to go are Fraser, Krakeour, Toy, Caddy, Jolly & Hickey.

If we go with 10 being the magic number, that leaves 4 players who will not be at GCS in 2013.

Talk on on Weller & Illes also being a chance to go.

That leaves a magic number of 2 to go! Any ideas????????????????????????

I really, really hope we don't let Cameron and Boston get away.

They are genuine talents from the local area. Getting rid of them would be the worst thing we could ever do.
seems we will keep those 2 and trade the other 3 zone picks away

Rondo is a midfielder clearly.....

I'd give up a years pay to see a Brownie vs. Ray Lewis contest for 4 quarters.
I've always compared Browny to a linebacker (Especially after that hit vs Hawthorn) and you already know my views as to the greatest LB of all time.

Campbell needs some tutoring on speeches from #52.

Stanley seems to be one according to Herald Sun. Only offered one year deal after coming 3rd best and fairest and still only 24. Think he will be snapped up unfortunately !!!! I will be spitting chips if we lose him and Isles and have to keep Brennan.

We desperatly need a medium sized proven forward, someone in the mould of stevie j, Lecras, Milne, Monfries. Not saying those mentioned but someone like that! It's the one area of our list that is lacking and the ineffective nature of our forward line highlights this. If we dont make that type of player a priority this offseason we have failed!!!

Interesting point.

How do you rate Aaron Hall in this role.
