Thanks, sf and meltiger. This place would be a nicer place to visit if you cut out the petty bitching, though. It doesn't make you look good.

I do get the sense that loose carries are seldom penalised these days in the NRL, compared to a few years ago. The strip rule is a good one, but it should be reserved for vigorous playing at the ball by defenders in a multi-man tackle. ISTR Sam Burgess was stripped in the Souths game where he should have had a penalty.

Also, not just in tackles, but at the play-the-ball too, IMO. Players who are in such a hurry to get up and play the ball that they fumble it shouldn't be allowed to get away with it just cos the tackler is in the vicinity.

BTW, has an English back played in the NRL since Shaun Edwards? I wouldn't be surprised if someone came calling for Ryan Hall. You guys will have seen him in the Four Nations, and he seems to get better and better, with another two terrific finishes last weekend. He's the best English winger I've seen since Martin Offiah.
