I know it is early. But who are the on paper stars, that would be super cheap...and who are your lock ins for next year (SC Crushes)....here is what i am aware of

And when i say lock ins, i mean guys you have not had before. People who have turned the corner.

CHEAP: A.Didak, J.Brown, L.Montagna, B.Lake, L.Gilbee, A.Cooney, D.Mundy, J.Riewoldt, Sandilands, N.Riewoldt, P.Chapman, J.Watson.

LOCK INS: D.Thomas, M.Murphy, N.Fyffe, Judd(didnt have him this year due to Carlton having Bye in finals)

Yeah Daisy is an interesting one. Not a great deal of teams have him but for those who do, they'd be pretty damn happy with his output. Not sure if it's wise spending top dollar on a premium who's only really performed for a year but you'd think he's still got a bit of improvement in him.

Thinking next year, Selwood and Ablett represent good value with their subbed off games bringing their price down a bit. Pendles and Murphy appear to be as consistent as a super premium as we've ever seen and the last two spots in the mids would probably be a choice of Swan, Judd and NDS.

Fyfe will be the other one i'll be swallowing my pride on an grabbing. Even if it is only his 3rd year... the bloke is a jet and an SC stud!

Will be hard to look past Jon Brown next year I would've thought as well as Didak.

Ha never to early to plan for next season!!!
I've started making a template of my team for next season as well.
Didak: Really will depend how he will be used by Bucks next season. I get the impression they are completely different personalities (Bucks trains really hard, Didak uses his natural ability). I would wait to see how he is used in preseason. Will he average close to 100, don't think so. Therefore you will need to spend a trade to upgrade him, so perhaps best to spend less money on a rookie??

J Brown: I have him locked in at this stage as a mid-price/fallen premium who should average close to 100 if fit. A keeper & at this stage in my team!

Montagna: I have him this season, however I haven't been really impressed. The better option would have been Dal Santo. Don't think I"ll have him in my team next year. I think I will rather select Hayes as a cheaper premium midpricer/keeper (maybe)

Lake: Yeah tossing up between him and Drummond for that cheaper midpricer who will be a keeper.

Gilbee: For me pass, i don't think he will average near 100.

Cooney: Pass, won't finish in the top 10 mids by average or total points.

D MUndy: Maybe, haven't watched him enough, not sure if he can maintain his effort from this year, ?? so far.

J Riewoldt: Pass, won't average 100, doesn't get the ball enough for fantasy football, a great footballer but not a great SC player, better options elsewhere.

Sandilands: Really tough one, when fit he is just about the best scoring ruck in the game (along with Cox), however proving to be a little injury prone the last few seasons.

N Riewoldt: A big yes for me, I just hope he doesn't gun it the next few weeks to up his average. I'll have him next season.

P Chapman: Probably not next season (i have him this season). Getting another year older and just doesn't seem to be gunning it like previous seasons.

J Watson: Certainly one to consider next season, has taken his game to the next level and appears to be scoring more goals. Only thing is will his body hold up!! Will probably average in top 10-12 mids next season.

M.Murphy & Judd both yes - should be in top 10-12 mids
D.Thomas - Not sure, should continue to improve, but again need to see how coaching change will impact. I think he trains hard. Will he improve enough to finish in the top 10 mids??

N.Fyffe - Only if available as a forward then yes!!

Ok my turn,

Thoughts on the following players?
Backs: Grimes, Broughton
Mids:Morabito, Dustin Martin, Barlow
Rucks: McIntosh

Will be pretty interesting for Fyfe next year. Wonder if his scoring will suffer next year after a bit of a breakout this year.

Barlow is one i'm really keen on. Malceski should be cheap again and if he has a good pre-season in 2012 he;s a lock.

Then there are a few others that should carry a discount like Morabito, Porplyzia, Blake (maybe as a 4th ruck option if he is fit and rookie priced :p), Hayes.... Drummond too? Would someone like a Daniel Connors recieve a discount if he doesnt play for the rest of this year?

No, No, No and no ****ing way!

I don't care how good his preseason is...I'm staying away!

No Adcock, no grimes, no Higgins, no Jroo, no chapman, no Watson.

Ok my turn,

Thoughts on the following players?

Grimes: No, i went him this year and it keeps being the clear rule, which is leave injured guys alone, look at higgins, brown, malceski, drummond ect...once injured always injured....

Broughton: 50-50...def a good 5th or 6th...but i rekon hell start around 490k which is maybe too much for that price.

Dustin Martin: Definite option youd think in a few years...depending on price, if he is under 400 you would def consider him...

Barlow: i dont think anyone is on him now he isnt a rookie...whats funny is at a point he averaged 130 as a rookie, yet no one will pick him for a average of 110...

McIntosh: Possible 2nd ruck, esp if he is around 250k, he could be your 3rd ruckman....2 years back he averaged near 100 a game, was very solid, esp in a year cox was down.

Morabito: Def consider him if below 200...just i like my rookies to be cheapest as possible, as they will all end up the same price is good so that 100-160k price is 60k lost in my eyes....

You said you have Montagna this year and he has let you down, same. However i had him last 4 years while no one did and he got me 120 every week....He has proven in his return he was clearly injured or something to start the year.

Martin will be priced as whatever his average is at the end of the year, so effectively premium priced. No interest from me at that level unless he can take another step up next year.

Shane Tuck of GWS
Daniel Currie of Richmond/Dogs/wherever Sydney trade him
Morabito
Ziebell if he's fit
McClean of GWS
Hopefully Myles Sewell of GWS too.

i think rioli pending his hamstrings being right. he's had a couple of injury affected scores and could be anything.

also no-one has mentioned goddard. well down on last year but also looking at previous seasons last year might have been a substantial anomaly. either way, he is definitely in the best 7 backs, is he worth having from the start assuming he continue's to average ~105.

Did u get a crush on Higgins and he broke your heart?

I've had Higgins the last 3 years. Got sucked in one last time this year because of his "huge pre-season". Never again. He is SuperCoach kryptonite.

I'm done with Higgins as well. Just watch him kill it in 2012.

I gave up on D thomas last year and he killed it as well. I'm always trying to pick at least 1 'next big thing'. I'm always one year out too!

Actually, come to think of it, I got Cotchin right this year! Breakout year in terms of SC.

Going out on a limb here but I think my ruck division may include Dean Cox and Aaron Sandilands...

I'm not sold on Sandi. He'll be expensive and he hasn't had a full season since 2008. Of course he usually starts the year well. I guess it's all about who else is available but someone like McIntosh could be great value. Might be better getting an extra premium mid too.

Main reason for Cox/Sandi is that virtually every year I go with a strategy of trying to not have any ruck trades, hence pick the 2 ruckmen I think will score the most in the year regardless of price. Then have value 3rd ruck.

I understand your point about the injuries, but I will be willing to risk it. While Sandi has missed a number of games this year, he only missed 3 games in '10, 2 games in '09 and none in 08. Not many ruckmen can do a Jim Stynes and consistantly stay on the park.

Sandi will probably start the season well and for those that don't start with him (like me this year), will end up burning trades to get him in. lol.

But agree with what Ed's getting at, and if you look back further, Sandilands has only had 20+ seasons 3 times in 9 years.... so i guess it's a case of taking him on knowing that he will miss games at some point.

Will be looking at the following:

DEF: Goddard, Broughton, Gibbs, Deledio, Duffield, Malceski.
MID: Ablett, Judd, Pendlebury, Murphy, Barlow & Morabito.
RUCK: Sandilands, Cox & Kreuzer.
FWD: Buddy, Pavlich, Fyfe, Cloke, J.Brown, Porps & Didak.

Nothing ground-breaking from Yours Truly, but there'll be more that pop up during the 2012 pre-season.

Looking to go younger with my midfield, don't know why.

Pendles
Ziebell
Redden
Martin
Morabito
Shiels
