Here's hoping Thanasi Kokkinakis has a massive year.

Going to be injured for half of it due to that back issue sadly.

Millman is in a 3rd set now

Robert defeats Millman, 7-6 in the third. :(

Sucks but despite the seedings I think these were the best two players in the draw, I dont see Millaan named in other Australian comps after this so I'm assuming he's off to the US to play a couple of challenges there before having a crack at qualifying for the big March competitions.

Disappointing he couldn't back up, too often that happens. Curious to see what his schedule will be now. There are futures in the next couple of weeks in Australia he could play, his ranking is beyond them but they can still help, he will probably skip one of those but there is actually another challenger in Sydney he could play and since there is not much going on as far as challengers go he can do that and then maybe head to the States to play IW and Miami qualies. Don't know as he has tended to play challengers in Asia

Ward beats Duckworth in straight sets, very disappointing.

Ebelthite beats Venus in two tight sets, though. Klein and Kyrgios about to start.

That's very disappointing as when the Australian challengers stop Ducky is going to find himself qualifying for a lot of challenges or playing futures acros Europe. Despite looking so good at the open he's missed a big chance to kick on and has less points than he did this time last year. Looks set for a grind in in the lower tiers in 2013.

Agreed, Ward is no shocker (made a semi-final at Queen's didn't he?) but Duckworth should definitely be beating him.

On the bright side, Jones won the first set 6-1 over Feeney, JP Smith up 6-3 3-2 with a break against Arnaboldi and Kyrgios serving for the first set against Klein. Klein would be a huge win for Nick if he can pull it off.

Ebden lost his first rounder in Dallas to Alex Kuznetsov, watched the 3rd set, let's just say his goal of top 30 is utterly ridiculous, his game gets worse and worse every time i watch him, has no weapon, his backhand is just pure garbage. He did pull up lame in the last game of the match but man Matty has a lot of work to do.

Guccione retired in his match with Sam Groth, not sure why but a bit concerning. Barton contiuned his impressive run by beating Saville to make the quarters

Disappointing to hear that, think he should pair up with a big hitter and focus on doubles. His court awareness and ability to read the play would be a big asset on a doubles court, especially if he can team up with someone who can hit a lot of winners.

Ebden has 106 points to defend in March from Indian Wells, He will have to get through qualifying to play and I cant see it.

When he inevitably drops these points he’s going to be hanging on to a spot in the top 150 by a thread. Were looking at challengers and qualifying attempts for GS and Masters only here you would think for 2013.

Krygios beat the Korean player who beat Mitchell 6-0, 6-2. Yikes

Greg Jones is through to the quarters too

He’s 2 Years older and meant to be a big hope for South Korea, 500 places the better in the rankings and Kyrios went 6-2 6-0…. And Greg Jones, I think that’s winnable for Kyrgios in the quarters too.

Kyrgios beat Jones 6-4 7-5. Takes on James Ward for a spot in the final. Matthew Barton beat Robert 6-4 6-1. Really good win. Takes on Lobkov in the semis. Cant see Nick beating Ward. But a Really good chance for Matt has been having good results latley.
