For the men
in the main draws this week Tomic is at the ABN Amro 500 in rotterdam

Matosevic, Hewitt and Ebden all in the main draw of the 250 in San Jose. Ebden first up against a qualifier, Hewitt has Kavcic and Matosevic is up against the wild card name with so much mirth potential... Jack Sock.

Most of the Ausie boys who have been playing challenges in Burnie and Adelaide are on the entry list of the Futures in Melbourne, the exception been Millman and Barton.

Just a note, there is a discussion thread on 250/500 events. Might just have this thread for challengers and below (basically all the tournaments that aren't reported by the media). Just so there isn't two threads on the same results.

No worries Matt I'll move my discussion there, Though if Someone like Millman or Barton name comes up in a qualifying draw for a 250 event it might be nice to mention it here or discuss there plans to upgrade to bigger fish.

Yeah, no I agree, feel free to talk about any Australians in here and how they are going(probably be a good idea to post weekly rankings/results I guess). Just when the tournament is actually going on probably better to keep it in there

And Storm Sanders takes the ITF event in Launceston 6-4 6-4. Big result as she came through qualifying. Hopfully the rest of the ITS summer here we will see her given wild cards, that's the kind of result that deserves them.

That should see her ranking drop to somewhere just over 400.

Unbelievable week for Barton, now at no.242 which is actually now 20 spots ahead of Duckworth, doesn't mean much but it's interesting. Hoping these results continue.

It says a bit, Duckworth is regarded as a real genuine hope to kick on but has lost twice in two weeks to Ward... Barton smashed him, says plenty really.

Pity Bartons not playing at the Futures in Melbourne otherwise I might have tried to pop in and have a look.

I'm wondering if Duckworth is one of these types who plays really well against people ranked above him, but struggles against those lower or of a similar rank. Its kind of a bizarrre thing, but I don't get why he always looks ok at AO, then doesn't do shit at challenger level...

Melbourne Futures tournament sees Duckworth playing Robert in the final

Alex Bolt made the semi's

the notable results for right or wrong
'
Kygrios made the quarters were he lost to NZ journeyman Michael Venus

Ben Mitchell met Ducky in the 2nd round and went down 6-0 6-, a far cry from the Aus Open 2nd round.

Luke Saville a round 1 casualty to Andrea Arnaboldi probably the most disappointing result.

I've also seen the entry draw for Kyoto challenger, the week after the Aussie challenger's end.

The Aussie group Millman through to Mitchell are entered, Mitchell outside the main draw at this point.

I must say at some time soon I'd like to see Millman break away from the group on the challenger circuit and try his luck out on the 250s. He would have been a walk into the qualifying draw at the French comp and his ranking would see him seeded in some of these qualifying draws. He had a good summer and he needs to test his metal now.

It's going to be interesting to see whether everyone goes from there. There actually isn't any Asian challengers for a while after that so if you are going for challengers you'll have to go to south/central america or europe. I have to agree Millman probably can try his luck in a few 250's qualies maybe when we get to the clay in europe
