Onto the womens reults some ok results coming through.

Storm Sanders is into the quater finals on the clay in Italy aswell.

Why we even bothering with the likes of ebden, matosevic, rogowska and the like, they are simply going nowhere in terms of progression and are wasting their own time trying to do something about it. Barty, Kyrgios, Kokkinakis and if he gets his head right Bernie is where our focus should be on as they have showed there is serious potential there.

Hmm, Kyrgios lost in R2 qualies in the Nottingham-2 challenger to fellow Aussie Jordan Kerr (unranked).

Barty also lost in qualies in the Birmingham WTA event.

Matt Ebden won Nottingham challenger last week and is now only just outside the top 100. Then playing again this week won his first round against Authom 6-1 6-2.

ebden comes and goes but is doing okay at the moment

does anyone know how much $$ tennis australia give the players for funding allowances

Duckworth through to the final with a straight sets win over Klhan. Very tough match up with James Ward in the final.

Lost to him twice in a row in the Challengers earlier this year, didn't he?

I should be updating this thread more frequently.

Matty Ebden made the final of a $50k challenger in the States and lost in 3 sets to Donald Young. Watched a bit of it and seems to be hitting the ball better but looked dead in the 3rd set after making the semis of a challenger in China just last week and flew half way around the world to play this.

Kokkinakis is now back from injury and trying the senior ranks and qualified and won a round at this challenger. Now qualified into a $100k challenger in the States this week and plays Robert Kendrick (a name I haven't heard or a while)

A bunch of Aussies playing this challenger, good opportunity for points:
Kryigos vs (4) Ram
Smith vs Jenkins
Reid vs Johnson
Ebden vs Kraijeck (Austin)
Mitchell vs Wolmarans

Groth won his first rounder and will play Polansky or Kuznetsov in the 2nd

Reid Def Johnson 6-4 7-6(4)
(3) Ebden Def Krajicek 7-5 6-3
(WC) Jenkins Def Smith 6-3 6-1
Mitchell Def (Q) Wolmarans 7-5 6-3
(Q) Kokkinakks Def (WC) Kendrick 7-6(5) 6-3
Kyrgios Def (4) Ram 7-6(4) 7-6(2)

Good results for the Aussies. Kokkinakas and Kyrgios play each other next round in a rematch of the AO juniors final. Looking forward to that.

With the amount that have won here, hopefully a couple go deep and get a nice bunch of points. Kokkinakis and Kyrgios is going to be interesting to see, could face each other a few times in the future
