How does he gain an advantage when he actually covered more distance by going off on the outside track?
I thought it was fair enough. They were side-by-side going into 130R, Ricciardo emerged in front but he ran with all 4 wheels of the track.

Even so, he was just in front of Sutil when the penalty was given. Why was a drive through necessary considering it was a driver error and he simply could've just let him back past?
