Hawthorn
Enjoying some light Puopolo Haze viewing this evening. Love the opening comments, including that Hawthorn was a talented team that hadn't shown it on the field yet - fair call at the time - and that "Premiership Captain" sounded good for Luke Hodge, maybe to put the right full stop on his career. Might end up with a friggen elipse at this rate haha.

Our fortunes changed the week prior during the 2013 Preliminary Final.

21 points down when Tom Harley said "Their legacy & reputation as a footy club is on the line now"
FFIN OATH a self fulfilling prophecy

Yep, that bastard was trying to set up for the end of the game, so he could say our legacy was failure.

Tom's the bitch now!

He's never recovered from that bump in the 2008 Grand Final it seems. He says a lot of words but they never make sense. Maybe he should be checked for lingering concussion issues?

And I don't think Hawk supporters will EVER let him live down the fact that the Sleepy Hollow Handbaggers lost the unloseable GF, either!

Well, that's what happens when you're dumb enough to publicly state that it gets to ya... lol.

To be fair to Tom Harley, he's been very complimentary about Hawthorn, especially this season.

Now that he's the GM of Football at the Swans, we won't be hearing from him in the commentator's chair for some time.

And he was absolutely spot on. After the disappointments of 2011 and 2012, at 3/4 time of that Hawthorn-Geelong prelim in 2013, this group's legacy WAS on the line. And what a legacy we created.

We hadn't beaten Geelong since 2008 going into that 4th quarter. And now we have surpassed them as the best side of the last 10 years. When you look at moments that define this era of Hawks, look no further than that 4th quarter and the first half of the GF against Sydney. The dominant forces in both were Sam Mitchell and Shaun Burgoyne.
