And more..........................

Poor WW doesn't quite get it. It's not just about playing kids. But let's look further.

First of all he lists second year players when referring to first year players.
We can debate if Grigg might have not been ready earlier, but then he gets a game and stars in a half and is dropped.
Kerridge poled more votes in our club champion in half a season before he was dropped than our captain did in a year.
We played underdone players early.
We brought Jaensch back in when he sucked prior to getting dropped.
We dropped players and then brought them back in without playing a SANFL game.

But if you want proof that he stuck with underperforming players too long go have a look at our club champion Leaderboard.
Oh but i do .....in the end your critical of the Diabolical actions of the selectors .....but the end result justifies the means:

1. ALL players that deserved games received games .....Brown, Laird, & Crouch becoming regulars

2. 4 Rising Star selections in one season

FACT: for a bunch of dumb electors we're building a pretty formidable side ...... your man Lyons that you pushed & pushed FAILED.

You may not & do not agree with # games and timing of players getting games ......but the result is there to see ....unless everyone is blind to the fact we're on the cusp of an exciting era

But of course the selectors & poor coaches are holding us back ....unbelievable

Kudos to you - I can't be bothered going through a whole season of poor selection policy for the umpteenth time
and i can't be bothered responding ;)

Way to miss the point again.............

As for the end justifies the means, did we make finals?

Oh by the way, who failed more? Petrenko, Jaensch or Lyons?

Did you honestly think after losing Tippett & Walker & having Jenkins (11 games) & McKernan (23 games) would get us into the finals .......you're not that optimistic

Or do you think plying Lyons, Grigg & Kerridge was going to make up for the loss of talls .....and drive us to a premiership in 2013 :p

Yep quality, experienced KPP are not really required ........given the loss & poor PS structure, i thought the year was one of many success stories

We've been on the cusp of an exciting era since what 2005 maybe, you'll understand if I don't follow your little dance into wonderland - but don't let me stop you I can see your late for a very important date

WOW what an inferiority complex you have ........ did you miss the rebuild phase

You can't see the evolution of the list & team ........gee you life must be so sad

As it stands we missed the finals by one game. We gave up leads we earnt in games. We carried some very poor performances in some of those games by spuds. Jaensch for example was deplorable against West Coast and blew a chance to ice the game.

Against WB we blew a lead and we had both Jaensch and Petrenko spudding it up.

If you think poor selections have no impact on a game, why have selectors? Why do players get dropped?

Following the crows makes up, maybe, 1% of my life. So don't presume to know me or my life based upon an Internet chat forum.

Since 1998 I've seen various incarnations of our side all the way from rebuilds to window open. Regardless of what status or label you want to attach, the fact is we have not been to the big dance. That is despite being a perennial finalist including 4 losing prelims. So you run along - your late - I've invested too many times and been disappointed too many times to join you just yet .

No ...your saying the non selection of Lyons, Grigg & Kerridge would have changed the games results and got us in the finals

You answered your own criticism ....why have selectors? .......well we have them to make the selections they did this year & back them in

Because their decisions differed from your opinion .....goes not make them poor selections:

1. Did the side improve during the year .......yes

2. Did players get developed and AFL games .......yes but maybe not to the degree you personally wanted ....tough

3 o the selectors / development team get praise for 4 rising star nominations?

Fact is your beliefs in poor selections does not make up for the KPP deficiencies that certainly robbed us of finals ......what i do agree is we stuffed up the PS structure ........bloody wedding
Struggled aerobically in first half of season .......running on top of the ground n last third of season .......so PS was poorly organised

It shows :p

does 1997/98 ring a bell ?

You only get disappointed when you don't have a realistic view of where your team is

Sando arrives ....this board says 5 year rebuild plan ....so we make finals
Then this year we have hic-cup based on loss of KPP .....it's not doom, we have progressed this year substantially with a lot of bad luck

Go & have a look at Geelongs journey to a premiership .......all journey's have hic-cups

And round and round we go.

When you lose a game by 5 points and you've got a shit player in your side, can that have an impact on the result? Yes or no answer please.

And you never did answer the question, who "failed" more, Jaensch, Petrenko or Lyons?

And finally, the coaches have said on at least 3 occasions they made errors

I wrote "since 1998" - are you blind or are just deliberately trying to be a d...k head?

Second most failed?
Out of Lyons & Petrenko ?

Both played diff roles ......Petrenko better tackling nut Lyons able to get more possessions but rarely hurting opposition with those possessions

Lyons still developing ......Petrenko appearing to plateau in perfomance

The stars ....Grigg, Kerridge. Laird & Brown ......Crouch goes without saying

I do admire your optimism and on a whole, i do agree with you that the selectors haven't been diabolically bad. I get that you show some faith to the incumbent and that most of our kids have done exceptional when they have come in, showing that we are developing them well.

Only complaint is i reckon Lyons will make it, just needs to build his tank more.

That's the popular belief .......but i also want to see more hurt factor in Lyons possessions

He gets quick kicks away from stoppages ....but in general field play doesn't appear to get handball receives or long kicks preferring chip kicks rather than penetrating the forward 50 with precise passes

Lyons played small forward as well, held Bartel and on another occasion kicked 4.

Lyons developing, yep.
Petrenko, plateau in performance? Last two games 6 and 4 possessions before being dropped.

I'd call Petrenko the bigger failure. So Jaensch and Petrenko sucked. Two examples of poor selection decisions.

In your opinion .......lets remember that

Lyons not as good as your painting .......IF he makes it he has a long way to go

Has Petrenko sucked this year?
no he hasn't sucked as you say .......he was prefered to Callinan

That said his tank is not good enough to apply defensive pressure & be an offensive weapon

Can he build his tank?

If everyone agrees the PS was stuff up ....then some players suffered more than others from the lack of aerobic running ........Petrenko, Mackay (always hunched over) & Thompson

Hey......Wayne's.....World....why....the hell do you......have so.....many.....periods.....in your posts......it is ****ing....annoying.... to .....read if it is an elipsis you are using...... they are three periods... not a random amount..... try using a comma...........................................Woahh
