as a freo supporter I think walters will kick around 3-4 goals a game, the sort of player that gets up for even bigger games too. Think he'll average around 80 points, would definantly get onto that.
3 = 66
4 = 88

Goals a year??

Yeah that's not going to happen.

Doesn't need a new thread but picks which have caught my eye thus far which I wouldn't have the balls to put into my team:

Charlie Dixon.
Aaron Mullett.
Jamie Elliott.
Michael Walters.

Jamie Elliott just had one good game out of the box. Playing the same role as last year, and scored his usual score of 60-ish the week before. Not worth considering.

Mullett I'd think about if he was listed as a defender, which he should've been. Not worth it as a mid though.

I'd never consider bringing him in, I'm just saying he has caught my eye as an unlikely breakout contender. However. he scored relatively well last year, I wouldn't automatically dismiss him in his second year. Weirder thngs have happened - Raph Clarke I'm looking at you.

I agree, too awkwardly priced also. Even if he was defender listed I don't think he would've ever come into serious consideration.

I wouldn't even call him that. He's just a guy playing the same role that he's always played who happened to have one of his 2 or 3 big scoring games for the year before the first price rise.

78 average over a 9 game stretch after a sub affected first round, then died off to the end of the year. Highest score for the year was 100 so that indicates he would have to maintain some consistency in his scoring as he never really had a massive game.
Conflicting opinions, but I think you could do much worse.

what is your thoughts on the hoff? is he going to see big numbers all year and potential top 6 fwd dt or has just had a fixture induced breakout?

From a suns supporter perspective, I knew he was going on for a massive breakout season but I never thought he would ever become dreamteam relevant

But yes, I would be considering him myself too! However, I looked at his stats and he had 18 disposals where he received 7 free kicks, had 21 hitouts and kicked three goals... No way will he get that many free kicks or have that many hitouts a week every week.

Don't think he's a keeper but he should make some money and his JS is good. I have Duffield who hasn't lived up to expectations and I think Duffield to Dixon is a good move. Also frees up lots of dollars for upgrades in coming weeks.

As somebody who's been watching the Hoff for 6 years, I know as well as anyone that his patches of good form can't always be trusted. But if he's ever going to break out, it's this year. He's playing under a new coach who he clearly responds far more positively to than he ever did to the softly softly approach of Choco and Primus. He's had a change to a far more DT friendly role running up and down the ring and taking marks as a linkman (so many +6's). He's running harder than he ever has before and harder than anybody else on the team (that's not just my observations, that's GPS numbers). And although we've only played Melbourne and GWS so far Hoff is a confidence player and his confidence would be at a career high right now.

It's a risk, as picking inconsistent players who happen to be in good form right now always is, but it could pay off handsomely. If everything goes right there's no reason Hoff couldn't average 100 in his new role and with his newfound confidence.

If you don't want to believe some nuffie on the Internet, there's Cameron Mooney (who played under Hinkley at Geelong) saying pretty much the same thing.

Can't really 'tag' Westhoff. The guy plays as a key forward, a wingman and a third tall defender in the same game. Sometimes even in the same quarter.
One time, he punched me in the face...it was awesome.

YeahI know, I am being a bit optimistic, however I do really rate Talia in all aspects. Would be a super battle I think. We are more likely to have Talia on him when he is forward and Henderson or VB when he is on the wing.

Just a warning...

IF STRINGER IS SELECTED TO PLAY THIS WEEK, DO NOT GET SUCKED IN.

His fitness is still way off and I can say with 100% certainty that he will be the sub. It's unlikely he'll be brought in but if he does, you've been warned.

But if we do what we did on the weekend and bring in unfit players, he could still get considerable game time.... :p

Don't talk to me about Wood and Higgins. I'm still pissed off with the medical dept.

Could be Boyd this week :p

I'm still angry  about Johnno in his final year - rushed back early and prematurely ended his career.

Better bloody not be.

Nah, Johnno was spent imo.

Possibly, he was good the year before. Given our position, it would have been sensible (clearly against MC policy here....) to say - "Rest til Round 7, then come back and give it a try. We'll still be around for the finals, that's when we need you".

Worked for a half.:(

"Collingwood have announced that 2012 VFL star, Kyle Martin has been upgraded to the senior list in replacement of Jackson Ramsay who was this afternoon placed on the long term injury list."

Interesting timing for this rookie elevation. Makes me think that Pendles is a definite out this week.

If Martin gets a game this week he could make a pretty good midfield downgrade target in a few weeks.

Tough rookie calls for me as majority of my rookies are coming along fine.

Want to squeeze Terlich in but that means one of Pittard/Stevenson/Frost needs to make way.
Want to squeeze Couch in but means shafting kommer who also still has cash to make.

Also need to get rid of zorko who is bleeding me dry meaning i can't do the obvious two rookie grabs above.

Will wait for teams i guess could make my decision a lot easier/harder
