I think I will go

Pine Rivers in Both Grades
Roosters in both Grades
Beenleigh in both grades
and UQ in the 2s and Carrara in the 1s

Will be a big weekend. Can Beenleigh get over the line out at Ipswich? There has been soem close calls and near misses in recent years. Ipswich always seems to know how to play Beenleigh out there.

Logan and Moorooka at this stage look set to duke it out for 5th spot (along with Ipswich) so this will be an important battle.

Only Early days but the comp is the most even its has been I think since before Robina, Caboolture and Nambour came and went.

Looking forward to the rest of the year.
 
interesting point you make about the comp buffs - considering in the last 3 years the comp has lost Robina, Kedron, Redcliffe, Cab and Nambour. Thats some pretty significant changes in a short period of time.

Quick question to those on committies of clubs in this div - looking at the ladder all teams have been given 2 points for a draw for the round 2 games (except ipswich who had the bye) yet in fixturing it has the games scheduled for 10 Aug - has there been a definitive decision on whether points are split or whether finals will be pushed back a week?

You are right we have lost a lot of quality over the last few years. I think it has in fact evened the comp out - almost as if AFLQ got it right (but dont tell them that)

I spoke to our president on Saturday and he suggests that the league does not want to play the games however if it will dramatically affect finals then the games will be played. How they define that I am not sure.

I guess it means if a team could miss top 3 or finals due to the draw rather than having taken the four points then we will replay the entire round.
 
Will be very difficult playing the GF a week later if some players have made other arrangements (eg weddings) based on the draw! I say double points in the reverse round is the better option.

I do agree with you though I know some clubs organise to have footy trip the weekend following GF weekend to get it out of the way. So will be interesting

Not me particularly no luckily but I would say there would be a few in the league with things planned (including footy trips or Best and Fairest nights).

Well we shall just have to hold our breath and see!
 
having footy trip booked the week after the gf is always a tough one. 2010 when we won both flags we were blind until tuesday, wednesday off and then on a plane on the thursday for 4 more days of madness. almost killed us all!

Since the drawn gf in the afl and the rules being the same of no extra time and a replay the week after, we always go the second week after the gf just to be sure these days!

hope for all you blokes involved there is a definitive decision made sooner rather then later tho as could be very important come end of year with % and all that.
 
I think UQ Ressies took a draw last year by choice and we nearly pinched top spot because of it.

Luckily for them they got over the line against Ippy in the final round and it was no issue.

Would hate to see the rain ruin someone's finals chances.

I heard he has been taking a beating in the ring for years and actually quite enjoys it.
