Stosur is through to the semis in Sofia as well with Vesnina upsetting Ivanovic so she goes through the group on top and plays Pavlyychenkova in the semis. Tough match but Halep would of been tougher.

Jarmila couldn't get through unfortunately, fell 7-6 6-2 to Morita. Still a very good effort in her first tournament back so good on her.

Stosur's through to the final, beating Pavlyuchenkova 6-1 1-6 6-3. She'll play Halep who beat Ivanovic 2-6 6-1 6-3.

Stosur has made the final in her last 3 Tournments. Good signs heading into next year.

It is a great finish to the year for Sam and she has somewhat salvaged what had been a pretty poor season. But let's not think that this form will be carried into the Australian summer. She has had great ends to the year before and struggled at home a couple of months later.

What I think Sam struggles with going into the Australian summer is the 2 month break going into it. If the Australian Open was played next week I would be confident that she would make at least the 4th round. The more Sam plays, the better she is. But without matchplay Sam loses her consistency and confidence. That's what I think anyway.

Your theory will get a test next year; she's playing Hopman Cup and Hobart, so she's guaranteed some matches. I hope you're right but I think she just struggles with the media spotlight and Aussie pressure.

Just make it to the 2nd round Sammy... That Duval loss proves she's capable of losing to that one

Good week here, looked good in parts against Pavlychenkova. I would be surprised if she beats Halep even though I think her best is better than Halep's best
