:(

Also the East is very small. Have the three best wing players as the bigs. Im not sure why they culled the center position

Injured players shouldn't be allowed to be voted in....

Where's the big man in the east though? Roy Hibbert in over Melo pls.
about 300,000 votes behind...

Also, All star uniforms suck.

The only positive i could take out is i like the Green/Blue color of the east.

They obviously cut it because of the lack of quality C's outside Dwight but the East have no legit 4 either hahaha it's going to be ridiculous.

just because they dont score 20points a night do not underestimate the influence good bigs have on the game. i would back a team of hibbert , aldridge (or similar i forget what 4's are in where) lebron, wade and kyrie over a team of melo, wade , lebron, george and kyrie.

I havent watched an All Star game for over 10 years probably.

And who exactly is pushing these sleeved jersies?

The fans and players hate them.
Good location for advertisement however

No doubt Hibbert is the best C in the East. He's a beast on the defensive end. Voters obviously don't care about that though. Players don't play defense anyway. :p

Ridiculous that Griffen gets a start ahead of Aldridge or that positions don't actual matter anymore. Starters imo should be as follows (based on PERs, WS/48 and more of the basic stats plus starts and actual games played and my own personal biases.)

West:

C: Cousins
PF: Aldridge
SF: Durant
SG: Harden
PG: Paul (replaced by Curry)

Bench:
Howard, Love, I.Thomas, Parsons, Dragic

Griffen only ranks 6th out of all power forwards in the west in PER, has a slightly higher than above average TS% compared to the top 10 PFs in the west however is well behind in TO%, ORR and TRB %s. Others unlucky to miss out are Nowitzki, Duncan and Davis who I would have all preferred ahead of Love however statistically, Love trumps them (although this doesn't translate to actual wins for his team).

I gave Aldridge the start considering he is a much better mid-range jump shooter and defender than Love, commands double teams from opponents and his team are one of the best in a stacked western conference.

I.Thomas has been a revelation for the Kings this year and has put up all-star numbers this season, he has the third best PER of all western conference point guards (behind Curry and Paul). He has the highest TS% of all of the top 10 western conference point guards.

Parsons has arguably been Houston's most valuable player this season, has the second highest VA rating out of all of the top 10 SF's in the west (behind Durant) and the third highest TS%.

Dragic is only 0.21 PER points behind Harden in the west for SGs at this stage of the season, the second highest VA rating (behind Harden) and has been the main catalyst in Phoenix being a playoff contender in the west.

East:

C: Drummond
PF: James
SF: George
SG: Wade
PG: Irving

Bench:
Hibbert, Millsap, Anthony, Afflalo, Lowry

Hibbert statistically ranks only 16th out of eastern conference centres in PER, however defensively he is probably the best centre in the east. Gave the start to Drummond considering he is third in PER and first in VA/EWA ratings for eastern conference centres. Lopez whilst having the highest PER, was low on ORB/TRB% and VA/EWA ratings.

Millsap's team is one of the few .500+ in the east and since Horford's injury, has carried his team with almost 20 ppg off of 47% shooting, 9 rebounds and over 1.5 blocks per game. He leads the east PFs in PER if one doesn't include James who has played predominantly at the 4 this season.

Afflalo gets the nod over DeRozan for having a stellar season, including a higher TS% than both DeRozan and Wade and and almost equivalent PER rating with DeRozan.

Lowry has the best TS% of the top ten eastern conference point guards and the second highest Assist Ratio, well ahead of Irving and Wall who are the only two east PGs with higher PERs.

it's all about the fans, Aslong as griffin keeps dunking he will be starting

you're right BG32, its who the fans want.

they should just make the squads a popularity contest and change the name from all star to something else.

since voting came in it has tarnished what it is to be an all star

Give me Noah over him this season all day every day, Jo has really picked it up after a slow start.

Hibbert is a beast, but I don't think it's clear cut that he's the best big man in the East.

Noah has been ridiculous lately. His stat lines are bordering on historical.

Also, found this: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/joakim-noah-vs-roy-hibbert-39-best-center-170400312--nba.html

Yeh fair calls. I didn't really put any thought into my comment. :p

Yep, Kobe in there is a joke. They need to set a minimum number of games played or something. All-Star appearances has become a joke. It used to be an honour to get picked. Not any more.
