oooo interesting

...I should be sleeping, ready for the game tomorrow; but can't sleep..

I think Goddard/Durdin may have came off injuries; both look better as defenders

I believe some of the comparisons are unfair though on those write ups

I want to go, but I am working sadly. Have always wanted to go to a one of those games to see the fuss. If anyone attends and are able to give a rundown on certain players that would be good :P Especially the potential top 5 picks

I'll be going, Igloo may go
the games will be on Foxtel and I will watch it again, got to go live
and see how hard players work off the ball and such

just thinking on the players we'll draft, it'll be a combination of their overall performances to date (how they've performed in big games/clutch moments), their personality (goals, how professional they are with their footy etc), how they tested at the combine

I think a player like Goddard will be really good at the last two I mentioned

if Petracca shows me some class with his disposal in these games he'll be hard to turn down. Just looking a complete player. Might go above our pick to be honest.

Also i'm thinking our coaches would be loving what they see of Pickett. They'll be doing big research on him like they did with Jack Martin to see if he's a good sort and they may very well pull the trigger. Is just what we need

No argument in what you say, I do however think that we need to seriously consider trading one or both of Wallis & Higgins. We won't get first round picks for them, but we might be able to significantly improve our selection order & by doing that we may be able to get more of the type of players we need.

Wallis is pretty much a tagger & we already have Picken who can do that job, and although I rate Higgins, he has been cruelled by injuries & is unlikely to ever reach the heights we all thought he was capable of in the early part of his career.

I agree we need more pace & skill in our side, maybe this is one way we can achieve this.
Getting rid of a 21yo tagger who will, in time, be a valuable midfielder and club leader to keep a 27yo or 28yo tagger seems utter stupidity to me, but what do I know?

We do love taking bigger mids with our early picks, will be interesting if we continue with this strategy. I think we should just go best available which could end up being Petracca. Has shown professionalism in dropping the kg's for a move into the midfield which I think would be a big tick for our recruiters. Think he has a big ceiling too which would appeal to our recruiters.

whats his pace like?

I'm not convinced that he will become a valuable midfielder & club leader. Libba seems an obvious future leader of the club & although Wallis always gives 100% his skill level & decision making is poor.

Players like Smith, Hunter & Hrovat have a lot more upside than Wallis imo.

he's got an explosive first few steps from what i've seen. can see him busting through contests in the future.

Haven't really seen much of him but from what I've heard he sounds a bit like stringer. Does that fit or is it way off?

definitely fits imo. hence why i think it might be an unpopular selection. he does seem to have a much greater running capacity currently than Stringer though.

with out likely draft position, McCartin and Wright, the two best KPF prospects will be gone, we could reach for the next best (Keitel) with our pick, (4-6) but it's likely that he would still be available at around 15-20, so the logic in downgrading is that we could get him and another good player in the 10-20 range as well.

Agree 100% although Dav1d has got me equally as excited about Duggan :)

Hi guys -

The Sandringham Dragons were kind enough to allow my Youtube show - Beyond the Boundary - to interview highly rated inside midfielder and potential top-10 draft pick Angus Brayshaw this week.

We spoke to Angus about the challenges and pressure of being a highly rated youngster, his future goals both in and outside of football, his strengths and weaknesses as a player, and much more.

It's a great watch - I'd love for you to check it out!

I think that this year is even enough for us to downgrade our first pick for 2 later in the round. We can get 2 guns for the price of 1.

I'll disagree with Smith but agree with the other two but Wallis will be fine. His decision making isn't poor I don't think but I'll agree about his kicking at the moment, but 99% of his kicks are kicked under pressure.

Seems the 1-3 is almost a certain lock Wright, McCartin and Durdin then most draft watchers rate Petracca and Brayshaw at 4 and 5 with Goddard floating around. Since there has been virtually no talk of Brayshaw on these boards would you guys be disappointed if we took him with say pick 5? assuming he was the best available even tough obviously a Duggan/Pickett fits more with "needs".

If you saw the game today you might have a different opinion, bad conditions for talls but Wright did not impress, very slow and not that agile. Perhaps he had an off day

I ment more the top 3 was McCartin/Durdin/Wright while the order of who goes 1. 2. 3. is still unkown. Wish i got to see the game today, who impressed/who didn't? :P
