This year we've decided to do an NBA/NFL style launch where they launch a membership package during mid-season. We've never done it before, not sure anyone in the AFL has, but we're giving it a crack.

You can see the full story here http://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/2013-07-02/sign-up-for-2014-and-save.workstation

If you sign up for 2014 now and arent a member, you get access to 3 games this year and priority finals access (but not before earlier paid up members, 2013 members already will get a few hours on these potential new members) should we make it.

I like it!
Good marketing drive to get onto the front-foot for unsigned members for next year whilst providing bonus befefits this year whilst we are running hot.

Will be interesting to see the take-up.... will the numbers be reported?

Also - any thoughts of incentives for existing members to start signing on for 2014 already?

Love the marketing and promotion strategy for this. Looking outside the league for ideas is good creative and critical thinking.

Hope it bolsters our membership stocks by another 5k for next year!

Good work , lets crack 70,000 in 2014
Nah. The target is 75000, and what a great way to get the ball rolling.

I was chasing my saints mates on the weekend - seems like they are already back in the closet. The party is over. I know we've got a huge membership already but we, like every club, must have a great number of fair weather supporters. This is a great little incentive to get them on board.
Plus more tigers at the Freo and Brisbane games can only help!!

Great idea,
Off field the club has been faultless over the last 24 months.... Really proactive!! Got some smart ppl behind the scenes!!

Can I ask you how priority finals access will work? How much tickets can you buy ? Will we just have to enter our barcode number on the ticketek website when they go on sale ? Or will there be a link on the RFC website or something?

I think members tickets go on sale first on Monday then General admin go on sale on Wednesday or something

Hrmm can just imagine the ticketek website crashing and the phone being put of the hook

Just signed up! Having moved back to Melbourne just a month or two ago, this is PERFECT for us. Family Membership signed up for 2014 and it will allow us to get into a few of the remaining games!

As i've signed up for a family membership, do we all get cards?

Yeah you will all get one. You each need one to scan into the ground I believe.

What if you sign up for a 2014 membership and are already a member this year?

We are mainly pitching these memberships at new members, fans that are not members for 2013 going towards our ambitious target of 75,000 members for 2014!

If you are already a member there is not as much as incentive to get this membership.

The members that sign up for 2014 on this plan will get access to finals tickets 3 hours later than our already paid up members, still 21 hours before public access.

We are waiting on AFL Finals guidelines re: how many tickets you can buy. In previous years you have been able to get non-member tickets, really depends on the opponent/demand for tickets/AFL.

Yep, you will enter your barcode via the Ticketek website.

Really brilliant idea! I already know of a couple of people who have picked this deal up that have never been Richmond members before.

Whoever thought this strategy up deserves a pay rise!

I hope priority access for finals tickets will not use a 4 digit code that will most likely get leaked, hope it requires you to use you membership barcode or number.

Hmmmm .... with our finals starved support base, unlikely we will be able to get an extra ticket due to our membership. With 60,000 members and 2 tickets per membership we need 120,000 seats at the G. our opponents can ave exactly the number of sears they deserve .... none. :D

Done the ladder prediction today and got us playing port the first week, no risk of any opposition supporters taking our tickets.
