Do Port get any of their membership fees? If so, then they're no different to AFL members with club support.

Yep and the AFL will count them as non access members. So WCE will have 17,000 non access members, Essendon 13,000 and we will have about 8,000 or less. Last year we had 8,200 or so non access members but that might come down substantially this year as people want access to Adelaide Oval. See the Wookies 2013 AFL annual report graphic at

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/the-2013-afl-annual-report.1051184/

The AFL will report non access members publicly as it strives for its 2016 goal of 1,000,000 club members - of any type in 1 game and non access.

There are a lot of Power members who have taken a $50 upgrade to go watch all Magpies games at home. I'm a Club 1870 member and I get rights to all 18 home and away Magpies games with my Power membership. There are some members who have bought both Power and Magpies memberships individually but not in specific names so there is a small bit of double counting. That is when Dad might buy 4 Magpies membership in his name for his family to go with the 4 Power ones who are purchased in each one of the 4 individuals name and a reserved seat. That might knock out 500 that are double counted. The 363 pet memberships ( as at late April) will get knocked off. There are probably an absolute maximum 2,000 Magpies only memberships where that individual has no connection back to the Power. The total probably is closer to 1,300 based on the info I have from last year.

Sorry, I thought 'SANFL only' members referred to the Adelaide Oval members. Didn't realise it meant the Magpies. Bit silly that they would be counted in the AFL membership tally.

They are club members and the club gets the $$$ so the club counts them all. The AFL do their audit in July or August. Last year the club counted 41,100 and the AFL counted 39,838 as access + non access members.

Adelaide jump up to 56,727.

Gone up 3000 overnight.

Until the last few days we haven't been updating our tally for a number of weeks and the afc twitter feed today said there had been hold ups in counting new memberships over the previous few weeks.

Nothing to do with the new 1 game membership offering?

Gotta love one game memberships

We dont offer one game memberships, its what the AFC call Boundary membership (basically a no game access membership), they have just added a free ticket to stand on the hill for the Suns game. Smart marketing I say, apart from the game against Collingwood, the hill has only been about half full for our other three games at Adelaide Oval, as this has been our weak point, as 99% of seats have been filled for the other 3 games.

So to me the club can't go wrong, if we get a few more hundred through the gate who haven't been to AO yet, some of these may decide to sign up to a three game membership as well, everyone wins.

I'm just summising but we wouldn't have more than 300 or 400 of these boundary members anyway. (our three game m'ship is much better value for money at $85 as you get game access with this one).

Not to mention if we did have a 3000 jump because of a free game (which is available to previous boundary line members - if it was to boost memberships and not just fill the stadium they would of made a new package like other clubs do) when you add on 11 game general admission (hill only) members and people who have bought single game tickets for the hill as well as any 3 game members who turn up they would have to turn most of the 3000 away because of standing capacity.

Far more likely they hadn't added one or two minor memberships type to the tally or something.
