Couldn't disagree more

The DPP is adding to how little variety is in our squads

Toward the end of last year the only forwards that were in teams was jjk and cloke. The rest were M/Fs that were predominantly mids based on their roles

Make common players like Bartel Rockliff Wellingham Martin Lewis etc not DPP and their will be a lot more variety and fluctuations in teams and scores

That is because there is only a select few DPP around, so everyone gets them, making everyone's team the same. I think adding more flexible players would then give people more to choose from. If we keep the number the same or reduce it then, again, everyone will have the Franklin, Cloke, Reiwoldt etc types.

Either way, low scoring backs and forwards are not going to be picked (by anyone decent) so why not try and utilize the plethora of mids who could be considered if they are DPP.

Who knows, with the new interchange cap it may actually be a realistic, pro-active move to align to real football with more mids resting forward/back ;)

Maybe but I doubt it

If Tippett for a full year is 350k cloke is 450k jjk is 350k and jack riewoldt is 400k I think there is a lot of diversity I. The squad

Also an idea that hit me today

Make 6 positions

Backs 3-1
Half backs 3-1
Centers 8-1
rucks 2-1
Half forwards 3-1
Forwards 3-1

U can use half backs and forwards in the center but u can't use centers as half forwards or backs

Everyone still uses real defenders and real key forwards and players like Goddard martin Lewis are still differentiated compared to Gaz and Pendles

Impressive effort, I'd suggest Goddard could lose his DEF.

Adelaide:
Dangerfield: MID -> MID/FWD (spent a lot of time as a HFF this year, but will probably be kept as a mid just to avoid everyone picking him)
Otten: DEF -> DEF/FWD
Mackay: MID -> DEF/MID
Few more for Adelaide:

Henderson: FWD/DEF -> DEF - Didn't spend all that much time up forward this year.
Grigg: MID -> MID/FWD - Spent a fair bit of time at HFF/mid (6 goals in 5 games)
Vince: MID -> MID/FWD - Been playing half forward for a while now but hasn't got that DPP the past couple of years but will again be a chance for it depending on whether VS choose to give out a lot or not.

Nice list.
West Coast:
Naitanui: FWD/RUC -> RUC
Schofield: DEF -> DEF/FWD
Lycett: FWD -> RUC (classified incorrectly last year)
Cripps: MID -> FWD (ditto)
I think Lycett will be a RUC/FWD, he spends a lot of time down there at both WAFL and AFL level.

Rookies that may be dpp are
McDonald - Def/Mid
K. Kolodjashnij (or whatever his name is) Def/Mid
Garlett Mid/Fwd
B. Lennon Mid/Fwd
Billings - Mid/Fwd
Scharanberg - Def/Mid or Def/Fwd
Thoughts

If they paid any attention to freo this year
C.Pearce MID > DEF (can't even see how they can give him a dpp, barely played midfield this year)
Suban DEF > MID/DEF (mainly a mid this year, may even not get dpp.)
Hannath RUC > RUC/FOR (played 70%+ of the games he played forward)

Perhaps Sutcliffe gets a MID/DEF but apart from that wouldn't they'd be be much of a change.

Rockliff should hopefully retain forward eligibility. He played a lot of time up forward through the middle part of the season.

Would love to see Mayes hold the Fwd designation but I think he will be a mid only.

Hanley I think could lose his def designation although he is some chance to hold given he did swing back on occasions.

On the GC I would be very surprised if D Swallow is not a Def only next year.

Wouldn't mind if Rockliff became a mid only, would make for some interesting decisions as to whether to pick him or not. His potential is huge when he's a full time midfielder yet there's a lot of midfielders that average dropped off this year meaning there's plenty of value to be had. Would be quite a unique pick if that was to happen but you're probably right with him retaining his DP status.

In notable positional moves, Hawthorn champion Sam Mitchell has been awarded dual position status as a midfielder/defender, having spent much of last season at half-back.
Mitchell's captain Luke Hodge and Sydney Swans co-captain Jarrad McVeigh have also been classified as midfielder/defenders.
But Essendon's Brendon Goddard, one of the most popular players in the game in 2013 thanks to his dual position status, will be a midfielder only next season.

Another Mitchell also gained DPP from what I can source. Not liking Hogan and Martin's prices however!! We're spoiled for choice everywhere this year.

Gunna pick rocky no matter where he is placed in fantasy. full time in mids 110+ average easy

You do know that just coz dt and sc have him as a mid it doesnt mean the lions will :)
