Couldn't disagree more
The DPP is adding to how little variety is in our squads
Toward the end of last year the only forwards that were in teams was jjk and cloke. The rest were M/Fs that were predominantly mids based on their roles
Make common players like Bartel Rockliff Wellingham Martin Lewis etc not DPP and their will be a lot more variety and fluctuations in teams and scores
That is because there is only a select few DPP around, so everyone gets them, making everyone's team the same. I think adding more flexible players would then give people more to choose from. If we keep the number the same or reduce it then, again, everyone will have the Franklin, Cloke, Reiwoldt etc types.
Either way, low scoring backs and forwards are not going to be picked (by anyone decent) so why not try and utilize the plethora of mids who could be considered if they are DPP.
Who knows, with the new interchange cap it may actually be a realistic, pro-active move to align to real football with more mids resting forward/back
