2014 Puma Range

2013 gear >>>>>> 2014 stuff.

The Puma zip hoodie, and media/pre-season polos looked really good. Why is this year's polo black and cheap looking?

The training singlets looks like those made-up ones you can get from Bali in whichever team you choose.

Not a great shot, but I bought this jumper (the blue & white one) 3 years ago from the club, and it was great (shame I lost it on a Melbourne trip).

They've had some good stuff. I like the "retro" hoody with the old crow logo on it that they have out now (just haven't gone and bought it).

They look fine... not sure what everyone's whinging about.

What if any of that would you consider purchasing or even wearing?

If so, under what circumstances? Just game day or a greater social setting?

For me it is very little of what has been shown. I already have a home guernsey, I have an old school away one as well and no interest in owning the new one.

The rest of the merchandise on the whole borders between passable and appalling. Which is a shame as I'm a sports mad guy, I like wearing the club that I supports colours out in public. But I prefer it to be in a somewhat fashionable or appropriate dress sense.

The range they have now doesn't provide this, and that disappoints me. The post by someone earlier in the thread with fan mock ups showcase a but of fan made options that have way better everyday functionality than what our club is providing us annoys me.

Aside from a polo that is wearable on gameday the rest I wouldn't wear in a social setting.

This is exactly the point. I think some of the stuff looks ok for its intended purpose. The training tops look ok for and on the players training. The media polo will look fine on the players when they are doing official media stuff. Those are situations the players are in and the clothes are required in those cases. But I can not find a reason for me to buy them. I almost look at it like this... I wore my school uniform to school, I never would of wore it on the weekend and I certainly wouldn't of worn someone elses uniform haha.

I want to give the club my money and buy some stuff that I can wear as a supporter in the situations I'm in, so if I'm out in summer with a group of mates and tshirts are suitable then sell me a tshirt in a current style that fits in, but just happens to a Crows tshirt.

I buy for my twelve year old. He loves it all. I wouldn't wear it in a social setting unless it was footy related - I live in QLD. And I'm 52 and a different shape! We have special made qld supporters crows gear made, so I'm more likely to wear that. But I love it all for game day!

Exactly. surely they can get some cool vintage looking tshirts and hoodies but without any cartoon looking stuff. They can come in grey, navy red or white and look like something you would be happy to wear day to day with jeans or shorts and thongs etc.

The media polo is fine, but really not something Id wear, although I appreciate some people would.

There are crows ts around, but they probably aren't official afl gear. We always buy stuff at the formula 1 sports shop in Elizabeth street in Melbourne.

We are looking for stuff you do wear. In places other than at the footy. That doesn't make you look like a walking billboard for the club and its sponsors. Stuff we would buy and wear even if it wasn't from the club. Something that doesn't look out of place no matter wear you were because it still looks good.

Yeah and thats fine. But there is nothing for guys in the 20s and 30s

I'm 30+. I'd wear this:

In fact, I'm gonna see if the in-laws wanna buy it for me for Xmas.

And this has potential (dunno if the image does it justice)

Having a Kmart tshirt/polo/hoody as a starting point is where they are letting themselves down. The materials and style of the basic product before branding is crucial.

They should be looking at brands like Superdry (http://www.superdry.com/mens/t-shirts) who have really well made shirts, tight fitting (or loose if you'd prefer), quality material. Start out with that as a base and then apply Crows branding in a manner that looks like it was made for the Crows. Not ironed/stitched on. Whoever posted those images in this thread earlier is bang on the money.

Their argument may be that there is less profit margin but another argument would be that they will sell three times as many and their brand will be splashed all over Adelaide in a fashionable way.

People paying to advertise their business... win win.

Something majorly weird has happened in the Puma factory.
West Coast on their club website announced there would be no change to the 2014 jumpers. Adelaide released all their 2014 replica jumpers with the same template as 2013 (including the blue and green training guernsey's).

Well, West Coast released training jumpers with a new collar, and this collar along with side panels were seen during their intra club match.

Adelaide look like they've got a new Puma template for 2014 as well, with this photo of Sam Jacobs.

Here is a photo of the west coast jumper with stretchy side panels

for what its worth, I've got a 2014 jumper in the mail as we speak so I'll have a look and report back when it turns up
