The Hawks Gave their top2 draft picks for shawn B . At the time it was way overs for him and Port where happy to do the trade . Every Football commentator said it was too much to pay for his services.
The Frawley deal is considered to be overs as he would never have attracted the no4 draft pick for him by any other Club but that is what Melbourne is getting for him as compensation for him going to Hawthorn .Not My statement but Terry Wallis said it on Trade Radio.
Lake was offered a 2 year deal when his club only offered him a 1 year deal based on his age and history of injuries .
Hale was offered a 3 year deal and good money ,again considered overs for his name on a contract so I stand by my post of Hawthorn paying overs but it got them the players they needed and 3 flags as a result .
How can it be overs when they didn't pay anything for him? He was a free agent. The AFL compo pick is just a priority first rounder for Melbourne in disguise and has nothing to do with Hawthorn.
Also neither DeBoer or Pearce would get a game for Hawthorn so they have no value in a trade for any of their players..

Forget it, you're not in couldaworld E.

De Boer and Clancee could be traded for draft picks and then we trade the draft picks to Hawthorn it could be that simple

They paid nothing for him, so in terms of pure trade value - it's a steal for Hawthorn since it's just salary cap. Melbourne received overs as compensation. But using the Frawley case as an example of Hawthorn paying overs to nab a player isn't correct.
