Time to get threads started for the Australian summer. First tournament of the year is up in Brisbane which always provide a strong field and provides players a valuable warmup for the Open.

Coverage of Channel 7Two starting Sunday at 2.30 and then every day at 12pm and then 8pm for the night sessions.

Kokkansis also received a wildcard today for the men's event. pretty expected.

Cilic has withdrawn due to injury; Marinko Matosevic will take his place. Still a very solid field though, should be a great tournament.

I think Petkovic Kanepi could be a very interesting first round match, and I think Thanasi has a good chance if he plays near his best against Benneteau.

Some interesting matchups. Groth vs. Hewitt, Hewitt should be able to exploit Groth's ground game unless Groth serves out of his skin. Millman getting a qualifier, really hope he can get a nice winnable match as a matchup with Federer would be awesome for him. Tomic has beaten Querrey before. Kokkansis has a very interesting test against benneteau, has the game to beat him, we'll see where is at though. Matosevic has got a winnable round in johnson, not easy but winnable. Duckworth got a hard one with Simon. Looking forward to seing how they go. Usually they just have women's matches on Sunday, I'm expecting Jankovic/Tomljanovic or possibly even Stosur tomorrow
