Don't get me wrong I agree with you 100% percent
I disagree.

Mick is what you see in the media. The interview gave a great insight into why he is the way he is in the media. He's a life member at WCE, Richmond and Eddie has said that will definitely happen at Collingwood. Life memberships aren't handed out willy nilly. Those close to Mick paint the picture of a much different man to the one the media portrays.

Don't get me wrong I agree with you 100% percent, he came to WA and immediately isolated himself from the media.
He was a circus walking but this guy moulded our boys into a very good football side that went on to be a powerhouse for 10 years without missing finals. That legacy has built our club and its all thanks to Mick. Thanks Mick.

He also took you guys interstate with no fear, it was just what you needed at the time an experienced coach familiar with the hostile Mexican grounds.

I like to think Lyon has started the same process for us.

He deals with the media as if they are flogs, but forgets that it all comes back as the way the public see him as the man he is. If you stripped off and run around the park in front of the under 12 netball team and your excuse was you were drunk wouldn't wash.
The only fact would be that you are a sick campaigner that dances naked in front of under age girls.
Sorry he can't change that legacy because he is a prickly campaigner. He can't have it both ways.

You are well on your way, your time is now my friend, good luck!

The media ARE flogs :drunk:

If the public are dictated to as to what to think by said flogs, they aren't much difference IMO.

Actually watching the interview portrays a different Mick to the one you think you know.
He can spin it with the best of them. I'll never forgive him for costing us a flag in 2011. After his interview on the footy show late in the year, it destabilized the club and the focus was taken off the big picture...the premiership. It was all about Mick and it caused a massive distraction to the Club and the players. He talks about integrity and honor, well he showed neither when he walked away from a contract he agreed to re the Bucks transition. Make no mistake, when he took the Blues gig it was to stick it to Eddie & the Pies, to show that he should still be coach. "I'll NEVER coach against my boys" bull farking shit. His motivations were wrong. He couldn't give a stuff about Carlton and in the end it showed. Yet again through interview, he left a nice grenade and walked away with cash in hand leaving a club in complete utter turmoil. A man who always prided himself about leaving a club in a better position than when he walked in....yeah right.

In the end, it's always about Mick. Egotist personified.

Bucks should have put the club ahead of his ego and backed away from the contract based on a flag and arguably the best Collingwood team in 30 years. The game's about winning flags. Period.

Anyway, we'll agree to disagree on this one. My brother is a passionate Collingwood fan and I've done this debate to death.

It was mutually agreed by all parties before 2010. Mick should have honored his end and supported Bucks in transition during that premiership window. Together they would have been fine but Micks ego got in the way. He's a spoilt grumpy campaigner who wants EVERYTHING his way. Period.

I won't go on about it anymore. I'm sure my feelings on this are clear.

I wondered why he appeared on 360 the day after getting the DCM, is he chasing a gig in the media ala Lethal i wonder ?
Dust has barely settled and he's already in front of the camera giving exclusive interview. Ego Flog.

Sorry GOAUS!, I did a Jiska.

I believe you did a GOAUS!. It was hard not to be excited with that draw, kinda disappointing. Still doing a fair bit better than I thought we would and I would think Melbourne supporters would have similar thoughts about their club?

I didn't want to go there.. But..

Same old argument as my brother. I'm not sure why Collingwood people are so damn worried about honouring contracts. Contracts mean SFA in a Football these days, that's just reality. Surely winning flags is more important, especially given they've only won two in 50 odd years. Why contracts are suddenly more important than winning flag I'll never know. Remember Norm Smith in 1965? The board didn't like his personality and thought he had too much power, so they got rid of him as Coach. That worked well. If Melbourne won a flag next year and Roos wanted to stick around, I'd be arguing to tell Goodwin to go and jump and sign Roos up for 20 years rather than being worried about Goodwin and his contract after waiting 60 years to win a flag. This smells a lot like the Norm Smith situation and Collingwood people wanting to further the pedigree of favourite son Bucks by handing over a ready name Premiership team. Well, he got that ready name Premiership team, and look what he's done. The only difference is that Mick isn't there to pull the strings and win the flag for him. In which case, why make Bucks the coach if he can't coach in his own right. At least Bucks got his treasured contract

I know the response that's coming, because like I said, I've done this with my brother extensively, and I know how passionate he is about this topic. Clearly you feel the same way, and I'm not trying to pick a fight, but honestly, from an outsider looking in, who's never seen a flag in his lifetime, I just cannot comprehend it and it makes my blood boil because I'd do anything to see my club win a flag.

Not sure. We have a habit of beating Richmond, and both games against the Dogs last year were within a small margin. My concern is how badly we do against the good sides. Last year we limited the damage, this year we're getting hammered by them. It's one step forward, two steps back in that regard. I'm excited by the new recruits, but I was excited by Scully and Trengrove too. Time will tell.

Yeah we do good against the good sides, not so good against the teams who we should beat. 2 steps forward, 1 step back maybe. Can't wait till we get Liberatore back next year, Clay Smith too.

Collingwood tried to reinvent the wheel and in doing so broke apart a unity that was held together by a
bond of well respected, top echelon of footy people. Make no mistake if you put Tyson and Ali in the same room shits gonna go down.

There's no response coming. I respect your view but it's a subject we won't see eye to eye on. Like I said earlier, I'll park this one.

You don't think FIGJAM is an egotistical flog,
Yes, he got some flog in him but not MM level flog. Watch him on 360 Monday nights and form your own opinion.

i have and just like you with MM have formed an opinion, regardless of media spin.

If you were honest you would admit all good coaches are egotistical
