Yeah one poster said "we dodged a bullet" but don't let that get in the way of your rant.

Ballantyne is one of those players that every opposition fan despises, but they'd worship him if he was in their colours.

I am not a fan of Boomer Harvey but I am smart enough to know he is a decent footballer. The irony with the Ballantyne "hate" is that it is a big weapon for him whether it is coming from fans or opponents. He thrives on it.

Its easy to feel some sort of neutrality towards the eagles simply because they are pretty irrelevant these days. They are barely ever in the news anymore, no one really is affected by the eagles anymore. They are performing averagely on the field and below average off it (Haven't had a big signing in forever and have drafted fairly poorly). In my opinion they need a clean out behind the scenes and maybe even a serious re-brand starting with a name change. The eagles are stagnating, I haven't had an eagles supporter say a 'witty' remark to me in months. I think its just got all a bit tired and boring for them.

Jeeze I love the discussion on the Worst Coke Needles board at the moment. They reckon they dodged a bullet by not taking Hayden Ballantyne at pick 20 in the 2008 draft.
What they fail to mention though was that they took Tom Swift instead with that pick.

One player is a current All Australian small forward, the other is currently emptying bed pans on an internship at a local hospital.
I will never forget that derby in 2010 where Ballas kicked 6 goals on Eric "The Big Sleazy" McKenzie.

To make it worse Sonny Walters, David Zarharakis, Liam Shiels, Dan Hannebery, Dayne Beams, Rory Sloane and Stephen Motlop were all available at pick 20 too.
That's a lot of bullets dodged there for sure.

I love their supporters, it makes being a Freo fan so much fun.
I'm big Sharks man and love everything blue and white so naturally I supported NM as a kid. However when an Egirl dickhead asks me who I supported before Freo I say their team for the first season but they had dickhead supporters.

I had randomly bumped into him prior to this that night. It was outside the Balfour Florist on the cnr of Canning Hwy and Stock Road. He was by himself and eating a hot dog. Both my wife and I thought he looked to be strung out on ice but I'm no expert so that’s just my opinion.

I used to and have said on here how it's his fault for taking it in the first place and I don't feel sorry for him. My opinion has changed. I still think he was foolish for taking it. I didn't see a strong ego or happiness in his eyes instead I saw loneliness and fear. I actually felt sorry for him and think west coast should have done everything possible to get him away from drugs. If they were prepared to employ him then they had a duty of care that they failed to administer. They allowed it to continue and overtime the culture of the club changed for the worse and the media are a bunch of vultures too.
