I know that there will be people who will continue to gnash teeth and wail and pelt stones at our unskilled plodders, our underperforming stars, and our clueless coaching staff, and that's fine, it's a footy forum. But it sure would be nice if those who want to go on with their self-flagellation didn't do it on a soapbox with a know-it-all-you'll-see-we-were-right attitude. Those of us who want to stay hopeful are entitled to do so, just as much as you are.
So. Much. This.

There has been a massive ****wit contingent on this board this season, many of which seem to have have joined up fairly recently.

Let's not be too harsh on our fair-weather friends, they have feelings too. Mostly angst, but still.

Sandi isn't cooked ,WTF are you on about. Pav has an injury that he could play with if it was finals but is being given time of.Its called resting. D Pearce is fine and in full training. One of the characters always laughing and smiling.
Johnno and Zac D have had weeks of so if they aren't rested they never will be.Luke could have played but the club chose to REST him.
Your pathological hatred of Ross clouds every comment you have on Freo. Only supporters of the Saints carry on like you do in regards to Ross and the team.Apart from you I have never heard a Freo supporter call him Ross Lyin'

Enough of your trolling and false assumptions. If you can't think logically take another break like last time. You have attacked nearly everyone with a different opinion, grow up.

I have never called him 'Ross Lyin' for your information.

Salim is just about the polar opposite to a troll mate. He and the other training regulars are the reason quite a few people frequent Bigfooty - to hear first how our team are tracking. Even with his super positive (sometimes optimistic) outlook, he adds valuable insights from first hand experience which next to no one else on here except the other training regulars get.

Get off his back and shelve the sledging so we don't lose one of its best contributors - and subsequently quite a few readers.

Well said Salim. Great incite as always, it is nice to see we have rested a few players although I would like to see a few more have a rest.

Banker - seriously sometimes you should take your own advice, and show some respect to people on this board especially those who put the effort to watch Peel or get down to training.

Far out we are on top of the ladder but even if we weren't why do we get bogged down in tit for tat arguments?

To quote the children's movie frozen 'let it go' life's too short for arguing about pointless things on the Internet.

Go out to the park and soak up some of the suns rays in this lovely Perth weather of late. If you don't live in Perth and you're on some remote tropical Island well then go for a surf and make sandcastles.

Peace

And On the Coach last night, all three commented how incredibly good and skilled Freo looked in the first quarter. How does that change in the 5 minute break between quarters?

Increased training loads and the coaches don't care about these rounds.

Meh...we've been playing the same shit football with patches good enough to eek out wins since round 9.

If I was a betting man, I'd punt that that this was the norm not some figment that we're heavy training.

I''d expect if that were the case we'd have a few more examples in 12 games of where we actualy strung 4 quarters together

I would tend to agree with you but the biggest example of why I think we can go deep this year is the Richmond game at the MCG. Fyfe on one leg, not playing great, no MJ or Dawson, turnovers aplenty BUT our defensive work was good, our effort was supreme and our structures held us up in that game.
If for anything we know there are players not playing their best at the moment, being played in odd positions, missing personnel, etc. yet our structures will hold us in it until they get it right.
I for one cannot wait for the QF, I fully expect a 2013 PF type of performance to put some real doubters to bed.

Yep the season has been carefully planned. To achieve what Bond and Ross saw as necessary to give us the best possible outcome is pure genius and I find it really hard to understand the negativity towards Ross and the players.

I'm not a spiteful person Salim but when we win the flag this year I'm going to be tempted to quote some of the choicest naysayers posts from the some of the worst culprits.

If/when we win the flag I'll go on record and say everyone from bigfooty can join me for a massive all day party preferably all mad Monday.

I'll even put most of it on I'll even supply those party hats and poppers. :)

Boys just came out on track. Nearly a full squad out on Freo Oval. Pav is out there. They are just warming up now. Sonny and A Pesrce jogging together on light duties by the looks. Think I can see Blakely with a trainer, he's seems to be moving ok. Pav moving well by the looks. Can't see Ballas

Our drop off in form has followed Fyfe's injury and consequent form slump. Far from a one man team but he is the most important player by a long way. We need Fyfe firing again.

Each day I get more and more confident that we will perform come finals. Ross is a smarter man than I, and he will be controlling everything within his power to construct a successful finals series.

I believe in the higher workloads affecting our skills in games. Some people on here have obviously never gone into a footy game with sore legs. What also makes skill execution easier is the recipients ability to work into clear space, something that would be affected negatively by increased training loads.

I'm now of the opinion that it doesn't matter if we finish 1st or 2nd. Id look forward to giving Hawthorn our 2013 PF performance. People need to understand how primed we will be for finals.

I am generally optimistic but very concerned if Pav and Fyfe are not close to 100 percent around the finals games. The backline has an opportunity to return to its miserly best over the next couple of weeks though. As I said before, I will welcome Ballas back now especially as no one has put up their hand to take his place, we do look more dangerous with him in the team

Everything now on is above the shoulders - we know we are good enough - the team just needs to believe it. Ross will show them the light - the players need to walk towards it.

I actually thought it happened when we lost MJ from the backline.
