It would be great to win rnd 1 for once. Dont mind playing the Danger-less Crows at home..

But as long as we are there in the big dance is all i care about tbh.

In saying that if we dont turn up to play i will be filthy!

Great test for the key backs coming up against Tex, rotate them through on him and see where we are at......

Best result is Crows, Swans, Tigers or Pies, Gws and Bris IMO.

Yep, not bad but i'd change to the following.

I think Swans are due for a fall. Buddy may have lost it, their mids are average/old, I think they might miss the 8 next year. Freo will still be up there IMO, don't lose much Bennell a huge in if he stays on planet earth.

Pies are being overrated by many. They have a reasonably stacked midfield yes, rest of their list is rubbish with massive holes back and forward.

Playing at Etihad in Rd 1 is massive. We should get within 77 pretty comfortably.

Give us Carlton twice please If Kerridge kicks 8 we will still win by 70+ both times. They are the worst side by so far.

17/5 would be the fairest draw imo but i'm not sure the AFL are interested in the fairest draw or they would use every excuse under the sun to make out how making 17/5 would be so hard to achieve like they already have..
Play every team once and after round 17 u play the other 5 teams in the 3 groups of six u finish..

Carlton cut from Friday night footy in 2016 after poor performances in the timeslot

The AFL on Wednesday will announce the Blues will not play on a single Friday night in the 2016 season.

The slap in the face from AFL headquarters comes after the Blues played six Friday night games this year for zero wins and an average losing margin of 75 points.

It would’ve been seven games, but the AFL intervened in Round 23 and moved the Carlton v Hawthorn match from Friday night to Saturday.

Carlton chief executive Steven Trigg on Monday night was disappointed with the outcome, but was pragmatic after a horrendous 2015 season.

“We don’t like it and it’s an almighty backhander, but there’s old saying in footy and it’s you get what you deserve,’’ Trigg said.

“It’s fair to say what we served up on Friday night fixtures last season didn’t help.

“We were expecting some sort of change but to have to have zero is in stark contrast to the year before.

“There is some context, I’m told there are five or six teams above us (on the ladder) with no Thursday or Friday night fixtures either.

“So, it’s not the sole territory of the Blues.’’

In what is becoming the traditional MCG opener, the Blues will play Richmond on Thursday, March 24.

Their remaining games will largely be played in the afternoons, with the Blues already planning a major blitz to attract families.

“We have to have a glass half-full approach,’’ Trigg said.

“We have an opportunity with a good spread of Sunday afternoon and Saturday afternoon games so we can do some really good things with families and kids.

“Pragmatically, we have to earn our way back to some of those prime time television spots.’’

The scheduling of Carlton in the coveted Friday night TV spot this year drew widespread criticism soon after it was realised Carlton was uncompetitive under coach Mick Malthouse.

Malthouse was sacked after Round 8 when the Blues were 1-7.

They finished in last spot with four wins and 18 losses.

The Blues told sponsors on Monday of their Saturday and Sunday schedule.

Trigg said the weekend fixtures may not effect the club’s financial returns.

“It’s hard to quantify,’’ he said.

“You can create negatives out of it, but the mindset here is how we do we make this as good as we possibly can for kids and families.’’

The Western Bulldogs are expected to be given some Friday night slots after a stellar first season under coach Luke Beveridge.

So Adelaide at Etihad round 1 hey? I assume that won't be a ticketed game? Anyway, time we subtracted the digit & won a round 1 game under Mr Scott. I've already invited 19 of my 52 mates over for that game - we're gonna sit around the old bomb-fire & make the pilgrimage from The Leveson to Etihad by foot.

Felt like they had at least 12 Friday nights.
